    I haven't replaced the expansion valve yet, and am wondering if that is not actuating?

    Oh yes expansion valve for sure! And switch from cool to heat and see if you hear the flap moving.

    I did that several times, I hear stuff moving, I hear the air flow change, and it gets hot and not hot. I think that part works!
