I've been searching thru FChat for any info on what to expect from my AC. I bought a '99 360 F1 last October, so I'm a newbie. This summer it doesn't seem to be able to deliver adequate cooling. Am I expecting too much comfort, or should I be seeking service? Thanks in advance for any comments...

Freon should be checked/recharged every two years.

    Welcome to Ferrarichat Mark. :):)

I would take your car to an aircon specialist and get that a/c checked out mate. It may be just a little low on refridgerant brother. ;);)

Either way, the experts will put some a/c gauges on it and diagnose the issue for you. :):)

    +1 Joe. :):)

The a/c in my 348 is ICE COLD also!:cool:

I'm guessing its low on freon. 360's with low use have a small leak in the condensor/hose fitting. I've seen it on more than 3 cars. You can try a recharge and if it holds your good. or you could replace the 2 o-rings at the condensor if you think its leaking there.

The 360 A/C will freeze you out when its charged correctly.

This is my experience with the 360 A/C.

If I pull the car out from the garage and turn on the A/C it would be freezing cold. Doesn't matter if it is 100 degrees out.

But if I get into my car after it has been parked in the sun for awhile, it takes some time to cool the interior of the car down. Not sure if that's because my car is a spider.

An automotive AC system, at the most optimal conditions, can achieve about 40 degrees F change in temp. That means if it is 110 out you can only get 70 degree air, and that is all at the best, it is probably more like 30 degrees change. (talk about a bad sentence)

When your car has been sitting in the garage the temp under the hood reflects the garage temp. When it has been in the sun it is outside++ so you don't get as much cooling until you get sufficient air flow to cool the condenser. If you move directly into stop & go traffic it could take a while to get decent cooling.
