My 1999 360 blew cold air one day and the next hot air could this be a fuse? Any suggestions
I believe the compressor must be on to run hot or cold air. Maybe you changed the temperature setting? The A/C / Heating systems are a bit different in these cars than in most. Is it possible you turned off the compressor and were just using the vent?
Could be a fuse or other usual candidates for a/c systems, but first make sure you've got the thing turned on properly by un-stopping the "Stop" button in the center console. Pressing that button "in" stops the a/c system from working (hence the name) so it must be in the "out" (i.e., un-stop) position for the a/c to work. Just wiping the dash during a routine detailing can turn the thing off accidentally so beware. I agree, seems silly but that's how it works.
Great post, that was exactly what happened to my AC, just that stop button. At one time I thought my AC only blow hot air, until I released the stop button by accident several months later. AC is now ice cold.
Yes, I agree, it is a right PITA having to have the compressor running in order to get heat, when the hot water is already 'on tap'.....so to speak.
It is odd. And IIRC, the owner's manual says something contrary to the effect that heat comes out even if you press Stop button. That isn't how mine works. It works like everyone else's here, which is that it doesn't blow hot or cold air unless the Stop button is in the out position (i.e. it's "on").
Thanks for the replays I have tried everything with the same results the system still blows hot air when I switch the stop button to the off potion I here the compressor kick on and still no cold air.
Same thing happened to the 360 I had and went to the dealer only to find out that it was the climate control ecu, a part that costs over $2,000 dollars.
Did you turn it to MAX cold and MAX fan for several minutes? It can take a while for cold air especially if the fan is on low.
