I have a 2004 with the optional subwoofer. I didn't seem to be getting any noticable increase in sound from the sbwoofer. I directed all the output to the subwoofer (using the radio head controls) and surprisingly VERY LITTLE sound coming from the unit. I took it to the authorized Ferrari dealer and they said it was 'normal'. Hard to accept that an option would have so little increase. Any of you out there have a subwoofer option and does ANY noticable music come from it?

    thanks

The term sub-woofer denotes sub-sonic (below the audible threshold) tones.

Thus, a true sub-woofer should produce lower octave, non-audible low frequencies only-you feel the lows and don't hear them.

That device in your car is a joke. It uses one of the same drivers that's in the door and one more w/o a manget or voil coil referred to as a "passive" woofer.

So don't expect much from it. It can't do much unfortunately!

I thought there is a subwoofer volume level setting in one of the menus on the radio.

There may be but that does not change the frequency range of the unit.

Agree, but the woofer should still make plenty of sound with music that has bass (assuming the bass is turned up). You should be able to feel it if you put your hand on the speaker case.

If I am not mistaken you can also adjust the crossover point on the sub, at least you could on my 430.
