Hi All, My 360 spider at traffic lights shifts to neutral, as it is supposed to do. However, there does not seem to be any consistency over how quickly it does it - and it varies quite a lot. Is it possible to turn this feature off? I would prefer to be in control. There has been more than one occasion when it has blipped to neutral just before the lights change. On another but related matter, how do you guys 'take off' smoothly? I always ride in sports mode and find that if I try to ease out gently I tend to get a lag but if I squeeze the gas on she wants to let rip, which in London traffic is not always appropriate!! Finally, do you guys switch between normal and sports mode while in motion? Is this ok? Thanks, Marc
As noted in the owner's manual, with foot firmly on the brake the car will stay in gear when stationaly for around 10 minutes before shifting to neutral. Shifting sooner typically means foot resting casually on the brake instead of holding down properly. This is controlled by the TCU so likely no way to disarm. Smooth takeoff is simple. Wait for 2 car lengths to clear ahead, then foot directly from brake to gas, press down evenly but not too far or too quick. As car begins to move off, hesitate on gas slightly to encourage full clutch engagement followed by resumption of smooth pressure. Full clutch engagement is easily achieved in less than 2 car lengths (any more is slipping the clutch unnecessarily). Yes and yes.
Marc- I put mine in neutral myself whenever I come to a full stop. Select first and off I go. Mine is in Normal whenever I am not in a hurry. Taz Terry Phillips
All very helpful thanks. Must be my own inconsistency on the brake pedal depending on the incline whch is doing it - I had not made the connection. Thanks!!
