There is a long, thin piece of trim that follows the window line (when rolled up) on the roof of the car from the front of the window, all the way to the back of the B pillar window. My drivers side trim is pristine but the passenger side looks like it's been through WW2 for some reason. I removed the rubber door trim and started taking out all of the phillips screws holding the trim piece onto the car, but found that the trim piece goes underneath the top of the B pillar window a good 10-12 inches, and I have the feeling that there are screws underneath that must be removed before the trim will come out.
If I remove the interior leather trim pieces that surround the B pillar window, will its removal become self explanatory? Has anyone ever taken one of these out? And, [I may as well go ahead and ask], do you really have to remove the window, or does the trim piece just slide out from underneath the window after you remove all of the screws?
    Thanks.
    :)

We refinish them in place due to the amount of trouble to remove. Our painter has done many.

Ferrari painted over the anodizing with matt black paint without roughing up the surface so the paint just peels off.

Well this is great to hear! (That you guys can do this, not that Ferrari screwed up the paint, ha ha).
I'll call tomorrow to set something up.

I was referred to the painter directly for the details, and it really does sound like a better deal to have the trim pieces painted on the car. The story is that the B pillar windows must be removed to get the trim pieces off, and are extremely difficult to reinstall properly. Furthermore, improper installation will compromise the structural integrity of the chassis. And all this to save about a hundred bucks over having the shop paint them off the car. I say forget that.
