The pervious owner tighten the nut too much and the metal terminal around the screw/nut area broke. what are my best options? 1. remove the whole harness, weld the terminal. How difficult is to remove the whole harness? 2. cut the wire, remove the terminal itself, weld the terminal, but this will make the cable shorter. 3. cut the wire, remove the terminal itself, replace with a new one,but this will make the cable shorter. 4. you can't weld it in-situ ,can you? seems 2 and 3 will make the already short cable even shorter, which bothers me. Hello from Germany, I had the same problem. I did no. 3. The left side (-) is no problem. I bought a terminal with the wire from the left side, not from the top (Bosch). Then the cutted wire is long enough. Best regards FM 133 Peter
wow, im a genius, I just thought of #5 5. destroy the OEM terminal and get a new one in, that way, cable won't be shorter! quesiton is, is it easy to destroy?
No. 5 will be difficult. You will have to saw the terminal. But the wire is soldered ! You will have to solder the wires out from the terminal !!! You will be more successful if you do no. 3. Regards Peter
How about soldering the broken piece? Pretty low temp, somewhere about 750F. Or is that your option 4?
