Does anyone know the sizes of the 360 control arm bushings (front and rear)? I'm considering replacing my stock bushings with aftermarket polyurathane if I can find a match, or with Challenge Stradale bushings. I had polyurathane bushings in my old Mondial T (plus stiffer springs and revalved shocks), and didn't have any issues with the ride. Thanks. Lou
You can buy 360 Challenge (race car not Stradale spec) solid bushings. Available from dealer or site sponsor Ricambi America. Upper flanbloc #181345 http://www.ricambiamerica.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=181345 Lower flanbloc #181346 http://www.ricambiamerica.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=181346 Front & rear are the same. Not cheap as one car set of 16 pc total will cost about $3,800. OEM design consists of plastic hard bushing inside metal sleeve. Unfortunatley bushing is not available as a separate part. And the plastic bushing typically needs replacment after 1 season of racing. Upper steel sleeve OD is 30.1mm and lower ones are 34.1mm. So the plastic PU inserts are a few mm smaller. Wayne, Have you considered having your Air Jack guy cut you some delrin bushings using the old oem casings? That is what I did and the delrin has a natural lubricity that adds to long life. Delrin is cheap and once your man has the dimensions he can make many for you to just swap in as needed. I bet your guy could make awesome monoball cartriges. I have alwsys thought of going this way but was too lazy.
Is this the type of lathe you used? http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=93212 Lou
We currently make our own bushings (ie. steel shell with teflon type inserts) for spares and replacement parts. Let's just say it's much cheaper than OEM parts. And BTW OEM parts tend to have more variance in tolerance.
