I'm swapping out my rotors and pads this week on the front axle of a 2001 360 spider.

Anyone know the torque settings for the caliper bolts?

Any unusual tricks necessary for the 360? I've done plenty of rotor and pad swaps but not on the Ferrari.

Found a great source for OE Brembo rotors at the lowest prices I've ever seen. Email me if you need them.

85NM and a little medium strength Locktite isn't a bad thing

    No tricks...Easy as it gets

What was the price on the rotors?

I have been buying Girodiscs for a great price and everyone is happy.

I use 75nm and blue locktite on aluminum uprights and caliper brackets. Check runout on rotor after installed and clock if necessary to get minimum total, sometimes hubs can have a wiggle.

    Thanks for the plug Brian;-)

    Thanks to all.

    For us non-metric people 85nm=about 63 ft./lbs. Sound right?

I bought OE replacement single piece rotors (Brembo part 25041) for $319.99 each. Much cheaper than anywhere else I looked. Vendor is Import Replacement Parts. Phone 425 357-6818.

I also switched to Porterfield R-4S pads, as the Pagid and Ferodo pads I have used tend to get noisy about 1/2 way through their life span. I'll let you know how these work out.

    Hey Solly,

Those rotors you got are new to the states. Good job finding them! I didn't even know about them. They are smooth faced rotors if the part number starts with a 2. 3 is drilled, 4 is slotted.

    Cheers,

    Martin

I just ordered a set and it is a great deal, thanks to the DR.! The rotors are however cross drilled not flat or vented, per the selling vendor and the...DR.

I could be wrong, I was once before ;-)

I was just commenting that normally a 2 at the beginning of the part number from brembo means smooth face. Racetech verfied this as well. Will be interested to see if they are drilled or not. By the way, Girodiscs are only a few dollars more at $400 per rotor. Steve thought that was good enough to buy some!

They shipped today with your pads...

    Cheers,

I hope you are wrong.. Those discs you have there are nice and reasonable, too bad they aren't cross drilled for that price becuase I would be buying them from you.

Actually the Brembos turned out to be cross drilled, despite the code, and I ended up with both sets, the Brembos and Martin's Girodiscs.

The weight difference is significant between the Brembo's and the Giros. Going to use the cross drilled on the street and the Giros on the track with some more aggressive pads. Or I'll use them when the rears go bad. I've got it down to where I can swap rotors and pads each side in 15 minutes.

Martin- were you at Crystal Cove about 3 weeks ago, rainy Saturday, when Symbolic brought up the Bugatti? I was there, but didn't know what you look like! I was driving Symbolic's Bentley GT. Met Dan Gurney and Reeves Callaway. Very cool. We don't have anything like that on the East Coast. I'll find you next time.

Oh, and the Porterfield pads are the quietest and least dusty I have ever had. They are not the ultimate threshhold-braking pads (yes, you did tell me Martin), but for anything other than heavy track use they are terrific. Easy break-in, no squeal. I'm very happy with them. Still have the Ferodo 2500 on the rear, but I'll swap those when they get noisy.

    Hey Steve,

I looked outside and saw the rain, went in and woke my 7 y/o son if he really wanted to go(he's the one who drags me out of bed to go!) and he said no, so we went back to sleep. Next time.

I'm glad you like the rotors and the pads. The surfacing we do to the rotor right before they ship helps with a quick bed-in as well.

Let me know when we can be of further help.

    Martin
