not even close. above all, the internet has made Ferrari parts profiteering impossible. I decided before I started my business to simply sell all parts/expenses at cost +10%, with sensible adjustments for large/small price items, and I structure my costs around fair labour... it's all I've got to sell that can't be bought elsewhere really... There are dozens of aftermarket cheaper parts available that'll do the job fine. 360 tensioners I use genuine, 308 I don't, I pick and choose based on experience. I actively encourage people to compare my parts prices... to remain as transparent as possible. I usually compare favourably, and it seems most customers appreciate the open approach.
phil u are right about the fuel gauge, we went and put 20 litres in from a jerry can then off the a servo and put in 101 litres, thats 121 litres, i thought it could only take 100 litres and that gauge it reads..........wait for it.........................5 like wtf 5 what, 5 gallons, 5 gigalitres, 5 what
well said. and not just ferrari parts. i'm surprised that more people in business haven't realised that yet
I'm always right... peepee'll tell ya that... err, no he won't, but I am!! No way in hell did you get 121 litres in that car. They were all capacity checked for Sandown 500. Max is 109 litres, some only 104.
well a 20 litre jerry holds 20 litres, and the servo on west tce is a new BP thingo and my mechanic was with me and even he said that something seemed odd, but could it be that the servo has an uncalibrated pump.................tell me thats never happened. like who really checks how much actually goes into a tank, like we cant see it, it just flows in.........so maybe and heres my theory, they reduce the price of fuel but screw around with the calibration of the pump.............mmmmm
or you used 20 litres getting from ground zero to west terrace. better fill up all the tanks for friday then
BINGO... much more common than you think... despite supposedly tight regs.. and a new servo is more likely to be out than an old one. FYI... you can reduce fuel tank capacity by adding plastic balls... but pack them down below the foam or they'll float up and block the balance bar. Volume of sphere = 4/3 pi r cubed
actually that could be correct cos we had phil's baby in idle mode at ground zero for a while and that trip to west tce is all of 1.8km and i reckon we went thru a bit................ and my old man left me an old petrol tanker for the olives (h2o) maybe i'll have to fill up on 98 for friday........i'tll be like mad max 2, ash sitting on top with crossbow etc etc etc phil, do u think i will notice the difference between 98 and elf fuel?
yep... smells great raw (but'll burn your throat dry if you do it much).. and nice from the pipes.. BTW.. I think I was last to put fuel in the car beofre you took it.. Wakefield PK, may 06... run it on BP all day until very low, then put in 50l Elf... so you had a strong mix of 6 month old elf with a dash of BP 98
FWIW, I think you're gonna rip her belly wide open anyway... but running full tanks will just triple the chances of..... A) ripping her belly open B) disappearing rapidly backwards through the scenery (where seat belts won't help you) C) busting a driveshaft/ouput shaft on bumpy surfaces BTW... since you raised it heaps... 4 wheel alignment? It'll need it.

run minimum fuel you can at all times.. work out your trip, and allow max 0.5 litres per km.. which is track consumption and you'll be very safe. Probably more like 0.35 l/km on road I'd guess at.
ok, we know FF is coming from a performance perspective, and this is a performance car if ever there was one, but what percentage do you suspect you'll ever get to push this car to? on classic adelaide there might be points where you want to push it to 200kph if you think you can get away with it, but the real point is you need feedback on high G cornering on undulating and generally unpredictable surfaces at 60-150kph, that's what will keep you competetive in an event like this.
That pic you posted is 003 BTW, currently for sale with my speciale EVO2 ~480 BHP engine and special exhaust, spare gearbox etc etc etc...... running costs... just ask previous owners.. running is quite cheap, crashing isn't.
