err phil this aint melbourne with a servo every street block this is sadelaide and here in the bush (15 minutes from the CBD) they dont have petrol stations and if u find one it might only sell diesel and that would smell real funny. so we have to maintain at least say 80 litres just to get us to the next town

looks like my ol mans petrol tanker is coming outa retirement

Pushing the car isn't the problem/dilemma... it's pushing yourself that'll catch you out...

The car can do an easy sub 1.40 at PI, sub 60 at Calder, sub 1.30 at Winton, sub 1.13 at Mallala, sub 1.39 at E creek.... but can you....

Just carry 50 litre Elf drums (with BP/Mobil if you like) in a support van, and a pump out rig.

I assume you've found the pump out pipe? You can also use the pump out pipe to pump in... BUT VENT THE TANK VIA THE FILLER ALL TIMES

dunno why a 355 is so forgiving, and a 360 is so damn nervous. weird. another backwards step. no doubting the extra speed, though.

355 is not forgiving.. you're driving slowly.

360 is easy to drive slowly.

    righty-o

well you might like to discuss that with scott, and maybe enlighten me as to why i got TOTALLY crossed up over lukey heights in a 360ch where i never have in my 355.

you're talking out your baskside again....a 355 is very forgiving once you get the hang of it. anyone who says otherwise is either driving faster than their skill level, or has never driven one fast............LIKE YOU!!

Have you ever driven your 355 on slicks... or a 360 on Hoosiers?

You drove one 360C on one day... you know NOTHING about them.

don't need to ask or argue. have data, experience and first hand driver knowledge.

All down to set up/tyres etc.... 355 has terrible mechanical geometry (as does 360), 360 just has more effective aero... but "on limit" driving makes it come and go.

you'll have to explain, in detail, why it was that all the 355Ch racers all over the world who did ok in 355s suddenly started crashing left, right and centre when they started the 360ch series. i'm sure you'll have some BS response...but i KNOW what i felt....and it was very sideways VERY easy.....and not so easy to catch, either.

btw..i was nowhere near the limit...i can't drive well enough...but i'm not sure if it had aero that day.

so the bottom line, goobs, is be careful...pretty obvious, really. it's gonna be a rocket when you get used to it, though.

i think phil was missing the point earlier, if you knew how paranoid goobs is about losing money you'd know. spending money he doesn't mind at all (as you's can tell), it's not until he loses it that he gets angry. (hence doesn't sell his cars)

anyhoo, goobs point was he'll never achieve anywhere near the performance of the 360ch, and he's probly never going to try, so there's no point praying and blah, he knows both *his* limits and the car's, and i've been in a fair few of them and he doesn't risk a thing. far as i'm concerned it's safe to say if goobs has a 'bad day' on the road it's very likely due to 'unforseeable external circumstances'.

No they didn't have the aero package back then. It was early days when they were trying to sell those six figure race packages. The cars were out of the box 360C's and they were very nervous, as were the drivers :)
