https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/2004-FERRARI-360-CHALLENGE-STRADALE-COUPE-228774 Was reading the write up. Is this fact based or BS? I don't recall the Speciale Clienti division being that prevalent in 2004. Have seen a few of these sell at BJ, not sure why, but as I recall they seemed to go for under the money there? The last one that B-J sold had a rebuilt title status or something like that I recall. And of course it would be the one that ran across the block while the TV cameras were rolling (without any mention of the salvage title). It sold under the money. But those that did not know the history of course pinned the lower price as "market" for all of the CS that came up for sale afterwards. That's never good 'eh? As I understand it this current example is somewhat similar (with the above confirmation) and unfortunately may suffer the same fate ~ so be prepared for the same outcome.
Correct, I have 3 previous B-J auctions in my archive (scroll down here to see past auction results http://www.challengestradale.com/forsale.html ) 10/2013 - ZFFDU57A940138421 - accident history 01/2015 - ZFFDU57AX40133311 - accident history 01/2017 - ZFFDU57A940138421 - accident history - same car as 10/2013 auction The Blu Le Mans car 01/2019 - ZFFDU57A440138536 - accident history - http://www.challengestradale.com/138536.html
Some extra info. This is a post/reply by Stokpro (the North American CS guru) about the accident or “track incident” of #138536. I have a copy of the service records but it’s not for me to share them here. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/145720198/ Screenshot: Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's the thing about actions especially big ones like BJ, Mecum etc. You had better know what you are bidding on. I figured the Fchat crew would know!
Imo some people take fcars there to unload them. Since it’s an auction service records, history, and usual due dilagence can get trumped by the excitement. There was a guy not long ago that bought a 355 at one and sold it on the listings here. Not sure when last major was, no service records, and he paid top dollar and sold at a loss.
Is this a track incident which was not reported to the insurance? Or is this being auctioned with a branded title? no talk of an accident in the description.... seems kinda sad for whoever buys it. I love the colors.
My guess would be track accident that wasn't reported since likely no insurance coverage on the track. Just guessing here... Too bad though...that's a stunning combo. Seems like it's been bouncing around from dealership to dealership for the past 2 years. With the shady history I'd say it's a 120-130k car?
Odder still, looked like when it was at CNC the asking price bounced around all over the place...I remember seeing it range from $179-230k within a span of a few months...
https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/2004-FERRARI-360-CHALLENGE-STRADALE-COUPE-228774 I guess they were watching this thread. 165 all in.
Hope someone can enlighten me-how can a well-documented car with a major accident go to auction without the auction house disclosing the accident? Am I missing something?
Just an attempt at humor. I was justsuposing it sold about right if it had damage history as mentioned here? I think Stadales bring more if no stories? Keep in mind that I think someone here said it has some sort of damage history less I be mistaken. That's all.
I get you, u meant the buyers were watching the thread so hence the price. I think the car is awesome blue with yellow calipers crash damage and all, regardless
There must be some iron clad waiver that buyers sign waiving all rights to legal action if car has issues... like a double buyer beware. The whole B-J Auction scene always felt pretty low rent to me. Whatever, I hope the new owner enjoys the car.
Yes very nice color combo and price seems to have taken whatever previous damage into account. Worst case scenario the owner can part the car out and get what they put into it (hopefully doesn't get to that point).
Also the seller must of disclosed the accident info at some point to have such a low reserve. Or was it no reserve?
