Yes i was aware of this car it's a very nice job the owner is a little shy however :-)
If anyone wants the CS rear engine cover/decklid for their 360, mine is for sale. I ended up getting one from Eurospares from a CS they dismantled (cost me a freaking fortune). http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ferrari-parts-collectibles/551548-challenge-stradale-rear-decklid-360-a.html
I've received a few mails from people interested to find out where my build is up to. Well in fact I've had to halt working on the car at the moment because I've simply run out of room to work properly on the car, and I'm having to store other members of my collection outside because a stripped down Ferrari with effectively another half a car "in stock" takes up far more room than you'd imagine. So in an outstanding victory for man maths I have decided to build a new garage to play with toys. It's as big as I can fit in the available space - about 17 meters long and on average 6 meters wide so I should have plenty of room to get this thing done. I'm hoping it will begin to go quickly now - got a retaining wall in around the garden and as a concession to the kids we are almost there with replacing the lawn with Astro turf! Funny how restoring a car turns into restoring the house! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was wondering what was up. Good luck and we all will look forward to you starting up again on your car.
Thanks so much. I have been continuing collecting parts in the mean time though so haven't been totally stood still
So seeing you other project guys cracking on has made me a bit sore and so it's time for another update! Progress on my workshop is slow but unrelenting. The slab is complete and now we are putting in walls. I'm hoping another month and I can move the Ferrari into its new home and resume operations.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Me too. My neighbour had one that he sold for £50k approx 12 years ago. Actually it wasn’t my fault. I asked him to tell me when he was selling and sold it without offering it to me. Bugger!
This is a beautiful thing to behold but you haven’t looked inside the motor and made it as sprightly and efficient. Isn’t that a tad more important. Just saying.
The engine is a verified 10k mile motor out of a known Stradale that was sadly lost in a shunt. There is no reason to strip the motor. We will be doing RMS and valve timing on it and the usual cam gasket seals but basically that'll be all it will need. Workshop is almost finished - here is a pic. Need to put in some plasterboard, sort the floor and some roofing insulation etc but the cars are covered for winter now which is great news! So I'm hoping by spring I can begin to wield spanners on the Ferrari again!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks great! These projects always take longer than you think. Keep us posted as to your progress. Cheers
First of all, Happy New Year! I've just finished reading all this thread and the work you are doing is awesome, I'm really look forward to see some progress now that your workshop is almost finished. This thread is also an invaluable source of informations for my current project, as 2 days ago I've just started to convert a F1 360 into a gated manual. My project will be documented in a topic as well. Keep up the good work!
