What is the average price to have an existing bra taken off and a new one on. I received a price of $2,500 from the dealer

What a rip off.. Its cheaper to spray the nose.. They know they got ya by the balls because no one wants to re-spray.. It just very expensive.. I would think 900 - 1,000 for clear film on the nose.. (bikini cut with mirrors)

If that includes the entire front with wrapped edges up to the doors and front window, mirrors etc I think that is a decent price, heck its a dealer. With all the talk about paint coming off during the remove process though I would want to be in the loop BEFORE the new film is applied because if they have to do much touch up and don't wait for it to cure you are going to have issues down the road too!

I think I would want to witness the removal myself actually.

Is that for full hood/fenders/bumper/doorsills/etc or just the front bumper? The cost varies with the number of panels you have having done.

pre cut kit costs less than that

a custom cut with full hood and fender coverage usually cost about $3k.

best to do it directly with the installer. most dealer outsourced jobs are pre cut.

Just had my 360 done for $1000. Included entire front hood and bumper and fenders. He comes right to the house and does it. Had many of my cars done by the same installer. Flawless application. Does most of the dealerships as well but they tack on double, so your quote of $2500 by dealer is pretty standard.

I've received quotes for nose, fenders, boot cover, a-pillar, mirrors, rocker panel, and engine hood (the soft top sits on a painted surface and can mar it) for about $2500

We not respray. Less money and car is perfect again. Cosmetic paintwork on ferraris is so common it doesnt affect the value

If you go the clear bra route, don't get a pre-cut kit. I did this on my F430 and was never happy with the result. Take your car to a professional installer who'll custom wrap the car. On my Gallardo and 16M, I went to Premier here in the Bay Area are the local experts. I had them wrap the hood, fenders, bumper, mirrors and all other surfaces which would get sand and rocks kicked up.

The newest film is virtually transparent... you can't tell it's there and when custom installed you'll never see a seam.

    Good luck.

Labor costs for clear bra on a Ferrari or Lamborghini are much higher than any normal car. This is because the individual panels are much larger and curvier, requiring a lot more fitment work to get the film to be flat and perfectly aligned. The cost isn't just the materials.

I had my 360 recently done by a mobile pro and it took him two days and he spent 10-12 hours working on it. Quote was given up front, so he wasn't working hourly and didn't take a single break. It took that long to get the film perfect on the large panels. Like the hood and front bumper. Door sills and other smaller pieces were easy.

FWIW, I am happy with Peter's work. He's in CA and I hired him to come out to NV to my job:

I was quoted around $900 for an EXPEL full front end (removing lights badges etc).

Just a question, of course Premier is one of the best installers, did they use a sharp blade to cut the film while mounting on the car? I agree about cutting the film to size as opposed to some cut to size, but have seen some installers cut the firm on the paint and leave scars on the paint when the film is removed.

I haven't watched the Premier guys apply the film so I don't know how they trim the film, but I haven't seen any signs of razor marks on my Black Gallardo or my Yellow 16M.

I have a professional nearby detail the car and then I keep it clean for the rest of the year so I get a lot of up-close time with the paint and I've seen no cut marks.

It's not a bad price if it is a full custom kit. I had the original pre cut 3M kit removed from my 360 this year and replaced with a full custom xpel install. Full hood, front fenders, front bumper, rocker panels and mirrors. Cost was about $2200.

You can't tell it's there unless I point it out. Great stuff.

My installer said the 360 and 430 are expensive to do as a custom kit with no seams because the front fender is a continuous piece from left to right with no break at the hood. Uses a huge piece of film to do properly.

Boy $2200 is expensive as I mentioned that my EXPEL installer quoted $900 but no rocker panels or mirrors (mirrors are already covered). Must be CA prices.

English, confirm the install is seamless. The front fenders on the 360 are quite long and require the 5' clear bra panels to create a seamless install. I've heard from several installers you need 4 people to assist with the positioning of the 5' sheets on the fenders. Mirrors and rocker panels have lots of curves to fit cleanly around. Curves == labor hours.

I'll ask again but as he told me that he would have to remove the shields and marker lights I assume that it's not a stencil cut that fits around them. I had the a clear bra fitted to my XK8 and it had all those darts where the film curved around the front end. I assume that it what you are referring to when you say non-seamless.

Ask for the details of the quote. If your existing clear material is OEM the installer is most likely including a full paint correction, as well the new material & labor. Example: the OEM half shield on the bonnet will likely leave residue that takes time to remove.

Had the entire 430 front end wrapped (including bumper, hood, fenders) plus mirrors and rocker panels for $1400. Don't know about the price for removing of old film.

I emailed the EXPEL installer who did my headlights, mirrors and replaced the factory wheel arch film and he replied:

"The program that we use has the best patterns available. If the kit does not fit the way it is supposed to, then we will produce our own kit for your vehicle just like we did for the pieces that we have already installed. We have installed a 360 before and the pattern fit exactly the way it is supposed to. Most all edges will be wrapped and there will be no seams."

I am assuming that means there are no seams and darts -- right?
    Thanks
    Alan

I have XPel on the front of my 360, I'd say it is actually very prone to getting nicks. So while it "repairs" itself for minor scratches, I don't think it offers a great deal of protection against serious chips. I'll be looking at other options when I redo my front in a few years.
