Just wondering is this is a serious problem or it's common?
I have a 02 360 M6 tranny.. Well, I don't know but the clutch pedal itself feels loose, like for 1cm only. I mean I can press it with one toes, then press it all the way down with my foot because it's feels heavy. Car runs, accelerates smooth and great; there is no pedal sticking what so ever.. It runs normal.

The gears engage and work perfect, no clutch slip or anything.

Second thing is when I'm on 1st gear and only 1st and wanted to shift into 2nd, the car jumps when I engage the clutch and that's only happens when I reach 3-4k rpm when in 1st gear only (That happens sometimes not always!).

Am I a little bit paranoid or that is fine?
    Thanks!

BTW, there's a pressure on the clutch! pedal seems to have a little slack in it at the top, maybe a 1/4 inch!

From what you describe, sounds normal.

I went from an '09 Porsche C2S 6spd to the 360 and the difference in clutch feel was substantial.

Just took some time to adjust.

Never drove a vette so I can't compare.

    Thx for the input.
Do you have the 1/4 slack as well?

My 430's clutch pedal has a little bit of loose slack at the top. When I first bought the car, I mentioned it to the dealer and they bled the system...no change. It was bled again during the 2-year service...no change. I recently had the car into a different dealer for a 1-year service (oil and brake service only) and it feels like they adjusted some of the slack out of it. I don't know what they did, they did it on their own, I didn't even mention the clutch. It's not totally gone, but it's lessened.

Looking at the clutch pedal, there is a stop adjustment at the top. However, I was hesitant about making any adjustments myself because I wasn't sure if that amount of slack was intentional, allowing for heat expansion or something. Ask your dealer or independent about it. If it's not related to clutch wear or some problem, they may be able to adjust it.

    Yes. I'm sure it's fine.

Of course if you get any slippage, or smell clutch, take her in. Else, just enjoy it.

Don't, however, use search on this topic. You may spend 2 hours (like I) reading through all the crap that could go wrong with the clutch given certain "symptoms". It's like searching Google for a pain in your body and self diagnosing yourself with a terminable disease.

There are two or more adjustments available on the clutch pedal. One is on the bar at the back of the pedal that directly activates the clutch master cylinder. You can adjust that and take out the slack if it's not to your personal preference. It will cause slight movement in the pedal height but quite a bit of difference in the feel and the slack.

Easy DIY job. I think generally your clutch pedal should be aligned with the brake pedal and have no more than a few mm of slack. Full stroke, measured from the middle of the foot plate when totaly out to totally depressed should be 111.8mm

Thanks a lot! That's a little comfy! Thanks again. Yeah I'm not good with these stuff either! I'm taking it to my F shop, he'll do the job; plus I'll check that adjuster.. BTW, is it a screw or..?
LOL, tell me about it! :D I searched yesterday morning and all I could find is "slipping clutch" and "oil leak".

Much appreciated! I'll check them ASAP, thank you sir! :)

I don't remember it being a screw, though I haven't looked at it in quite a while. IIRC, the clutch arm triggers a switch at the top. I believe the switch also acts as a stop. I think it has a threaded shaft and a nut. If you look under the dash, you will see how it works. It doesn't look difficult to do, but knowing how much to adjust it is what's important...that I don't know.
