In theory if everything else is equal, would you prefer a 2001 Modena with 15K miles or 2004 Modena with 35K miles (both F1) if you plan on driving 5K miles per year.

    I appreciate all the input.

    Thank you,

You gotta go for the one with fewer miles. You said all else equal which means that the 01 has been updated to the 2004 ECU = no brainer IMO.

only 5k miles a year ? get a Honda or BMW
A Ferrari deserves to be driven LOTS MORE than 5k a year.
    :)
I see nothing wrong with either of those cars, the 01 TCU can be upgraded to 04 specs and then there is no difference in the 2 cars except for the mileage and I consider the mileage on both those cars to be super low compared to my 360

I'll have to say I agree with getting a lower mileage car. I was faced with the same "dilemma" although at the end, I chose to buy a late model ('03 or '04 coupe)
    with (somewhat) lower mileage (17,500).

Incidentally, all '05 models I saw during my search were spyders. Were there coupes made in '05?

I think 5k miles a year is a lot of F car driving! I guess it depends on where you live.

5k miles a year, not possible in Honolulu.

But more than possible in California. ;)

ok, I spoke incorrectly, "upgraded" as in swapped out with a 04 TCU, to me that swap is a upgrade.

I'm certain of two things... (1) One car is better than the other... And (2) we don't know which.

Mileage is one factor, but overall condition is more important.

Michael Sheehan's has an article on this subject…….
    The Myth of Low Miles

Where is the car? Florida? Texas? Hot climates play havoc to the leather dash.

Private Party? Independent Dealer? Authorized dealer? Auction? Where you buy could have an effect on condition.

Once again I refer to Michael Sheehan …….
    The Snowball Effect

If the service history is up to date & documents available, I would buy a higher mileage maintained car over a garage queen that was neglected by the previous owner.

Why is the choice down to two vastly different 360s? There are dozens on the market in the US.

Agreed, only 2 years of daily driving and parking in the full sun at work and my previously perfect dash really took a beating. Shrank all over the place and also has a bubble now, oh well I enjoyed driving it and I still continue to enjoy it, small price to pay...but I am surprised it didn't last better.
