white smoke came up from my engine bay while driving the other day, i pulled over the car and shut off the engine asap. the Ferrari services dept told me it is the hoses that connects the radiator and the engine that are broken (cooling system hoses). Is this normal wear and tear? Is there anything I should be awared of after these hoses are replaced? Just did my annual service at the same shop, isnt this something they should have spotted when the job was done? 360 rookie
its just a little white smoke right? it goes away after a few minutes of driving? if it is, dont worry too much. probably coolant leak somewhere (happened in my 360tt setup). easy fix
I've seen small puffs of white "smoke" in my engine compartment as well... but only when it's cold out and the car's heater is on. Other than under these conditions it doesn't happen. Am I ignoring something that could be a bigger problem? Thanks, Frank
I would check it out. I drive my 360 all the time and never see any signs of smoke in the engine compartment. Ray
White smoke out of the engine campartment of the tail pipes. I assume the engine compartment which, to me, would indicate to much pressure in the radiator and perhaps steam blow by. I'd find the source of that real fast.
In order to better answer your question it would help to know the year, mileage and climate of where you reside. However, regardless of the variables, even a new car can have defective parts. If the tech had done a thorough annual service the hoses would have been inspected and condition noted. "What else should you be aware of after the hoses are replaced?" Well, based on the above you may want to confirm that he actually changed the fluids.
