My CS has about 4700 miles on it and I noticed recently that the rear brakes have a squeak at slow speed stops. Has anyone had this issue and or is it common with these brakes? I drive the car about 150-200 miles per month since I got her last May with 3800 miles on the clock. Not sure if its just from not being driven as much as she needs to be....

Your CS is telling you she needs a few track days!

In other words drive it hard for a bit. Mine will do that, but if I attack a twisty road or do a track day.... Voila! No squeak!

I have that same issue on my 360. I just took my car into the dealer to have a complete service and I had them check my brakes because at low speeds there is a very high pitched squeak coming from my rear brake pads. The dealer checked them and stated that this is a very common issue on many ferraris especially the 550's. I was told if you have the squeak the pads are not stock and they have been upgraded yes upgraded from stock to a high performance racing pad designed for track cars. My dealership stated that my pads are indeed a high performance pad. These pads are a complex composite material designed for low wear and quick heat dissipation. They contain Carbon, an aluminum alloy powder of some sort and some carcinogenic materials...

    Hope this helps

I've been thinking of changing my pads to a cheap pad because my car is not a track car just a car, if you find some good pads let me know if like to change mine..

If I turn my steering wheels slightly to the left, the squeak goes a way.
If I keep steering wheel straight, there is a audible squeak, especially at low speed.
If I turn my steering wheel to the right, the squeak becomes louder, esp. at low speed.
Since I can't really turn left indefinitely (I'm not NASCAR), I hear the squeak every time I drive the car.
At first I thought something is wrong, then my mech says that's normal for 360.

CCBs squeak a bit. The cure is to re-bed them by several hard near stops followed by cooling. Watch that you don't get a ticket or rear-ended.

Steel brakes in 360s are also prone to squeaking, even with stock pads. Bedding usually cures them as well. Read up on it here: Instructions for bedding in your brakes
Avoiding Brake Judder at the Track

Squeaking is not confined to 360s, as BMWs and Mercedes also exhibit the same behavior. Often if bedding doesn't work, an application of a high temp brake pad lube/paste (Permatex; it's a transparent blue-green in color) to the pad backing's points of contact with the calipers will make the squeaking go away. Of course, DO NOT apply the paste to the face of the pads that contact the discs!

I have StopTech street performance pads in my 360. Zeckhausen Racing

They squeaked a bit when first installed but the squeaking went away with bedding and the lube/paste. They are fantastic pads. Great cold bite and a MOT high enough that track days (on street tires, RE-11s in my case) do not present a fade problem.

Squeeking on my 360 comes and goes. Same thing happened to an y other "performance" car I've owned. Totally normal. It will go away if you make a few hard stops.

It's carbon dust - wash calipers in soap and water.

    That's the fix

My brakes started squeaking soon after I collected it from the dealer. I had read about stuck calipers on fchat so I had the calipers rebuilt and fitted with Hill Engineering pistons. They don't squeak now and they are so responsive its a joy to stop. All the original pistons were corroded and it was quite difficult to get them out. If is of interest I will post a picture of the originals. Mileage. 4500. Its not the miles. Those calipers were meant to be rebuilt every year.

Thanks everyone for the advice... I am gonna take her out this weekend and flog her in the canyons and see if that stops her from whining! If not will have her looked at.

John, who did you use to rebuild the calipers with Hill's pistons? (I am also in Suffolk).
    Thanks Neil

After installing racing pads on my 360 i do face some squeak. Not right after the installation but about a month later, at low speeds.

    Again -

My CS Brakes used to make noise.

FNE service manager told me to wash with soap and water to remove carbon brake pad dust. Worked like a charm -
