Hello, I have a CS and about two months ago started hearing a squeaking sound when steering left in low speed corners. I had in mind that maybe something was rubbing against the tire or maybe an issue with the steering. I was however, never able to identify the issue so decided to take to the local Ferrari workshop. After testing the car several times and taking the wheels off to inspect they identified the noise coming from the rear and eventually found the issue (at least what they think). It seems that one of the rear brake rotors has a bit of play with the metal rotor mounting when steering in a coroner at low speed. they claim that when steering left the weight/force absorbed by the rear right wheel and the brake rotor creates this squeaking sound. The car has 50'000KM was never tracked but was driven enthusiastically however, I have never heard of such an issue with CC brakes, according to Ferrari the solution is to replace both rear rotors. I heard that there was a brake fitting kit which allows you to keep the composite disc and mount it on a new metallic plate but Ferrari do not offer this. I would highly appreciate any advise or comments on this as I am not very convinced on what the workshop told me.
If there is nothing loose/flopping about with the disc, then I would be more inclined to think it's a wheel bearing.
Thank you very much for the info. I had the rear wheel bearings changed a few months ago during the service, I need to jack the car and check. Could be an issue related to how they were installed...
