In the begining I had a problem with a dead battery. So I located the battery and disconnected the hot terminal and attempted to charge it for about 30 minute's, and then I tried to restart the car . All the car would do at this point was sort of pulse fire about every second , with all kind of electical things flasing on the dash. The car would not start so I once again disconnected the positive terminal and proceded to tricle charge the the battery overnight. The next day I reconected the battery and started the car , at this time I noticed that the odometer was reading an extra 5000 mile's higher than what the car actual milage is . I then took the car out for a drive and notice that every few feet the odometer would add another mile to the odometer. This mileage is totally incorrect. Has anyone ever heard of such a probem? How can I get the original odometer reading back on my car. Any info Please

Unfortunately it sounds like you'll need to take a trip to the dealer on this one.

Hmm, I just finished watching Ferris Bueller's Day Off, in it they needed to set the odometer back. So, first you... ehh never mind. Have it looked at by a shop that has a SD2 or SD3.

is there an 'X' displayed on the small screen on the dash? I have come across this before where cars with a mph dash convert the digital mileage to Km. they also loose gearbox configuration... eg... if ur car is a manual the dash will think its an F1 and put gearbox warning light on etc. SD2 isn't going to be any use here. in the uk we remove the dash and send back to ferrari uk for reprogramming. To be perfectly honest it looks like u'll need to see a dealer. Seems to happen rarely this problem but have seen it now a few times, always on a jump start/poor charging state. good luck.

There is a chance that the odometer defaulted to a program for Euro spec odometer reading instead of miles. Calculate your mileage it records, if you are clocking 1.66 miles for every "real" mile you drive (you can check with a GPS), then that's the case, in any case, it does mean a trip to the dealer.
