Here's Kevin's car with Tubi.Sounds pretty good to me. Joe, Waz Get yer cheque books out ! http://www.scuderiasystems.com/M-Media.htm
Love it,hope to hear all these wonderful sounds on 19th april,im sure i wont be disapionted, cheers Dale.
I was at the Spa Ferrari Days 2003 when Massa demonstrated the "stock" Stradale. I can assure you it really sounds great! Let alone with a special exhaust. Great clips tonyh!
That sounds veryyyyyyy Nice ..Manu you dog!! You said it would sound sweet.. carnt wait to hear it in the metal.... Hey!! and looks fab too... Iver put spec together and am meeting Tim at H.R. Owen next week. Roll on Sept...
Unless you turn it up really loud, those clips don't do it justice; in fact the most representative is when the car is close to the camera. It's still a Stradale sound, just harder edged and more complex. I LOVE it! Look forward to the next meet. April 19th must be the Silverstone track day? That's me f**ked then. Kevin
Whoa. Rewind. I thought the noise limits were set by the circuit, not the club. So they don't test dB at all?
Kevin, back to Tubi for a sec;does the car still have to get above certain RPM before those valves open and then all hell breaks loose, or is it "on song" from tickover? From the vid, it sounds deeper than stock with a touch more high pitched F1-ness , if that makes any sense at all?
The valves are history Tony, so it's linear all the way up. Low down it's deeper than stock, at higher revs it's pitch is higher and the sound more intense than the vid suggests. In fact, if you look at the size of this thing, you'll be as surprised as I was that it's worthy of the name 'silencer' Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks Joe! Don't know why no-one in the club pointed this out. Off to find an application form. Kevin
Aight ..its working Great sound !! Although i think i prefered the 360 spider sound no ? The Barchetta and a Tubi dont go well IMO .
Manu and Ajay [sic] sourcing abilities are second to none. How long before they source an exhaust that shatters Maranello Sales' windows on one of these fly by's ?
Well done the Tubi boys. It sounds very loud indeed ! Great pics. I see they did away with the vavles all together and that box is so small it hardly semms worth bothering at all I really NEED to hear it in the flesh. I love the Stdrad sound especially in race mode or above 6500 RPM when the vavles open. But i'm not sure if I could live with it all the time. With the valves you have a choice not to wake the whole street ( sorry City) at 6 in the morning, and at least be a bit discreet( if that's at all possible in a Strad). But I could easily be swayed if I hear it in the flesh. Congrats Kevin. Can't wait to hear it. Hurry up and get your FOC Silverstone Track day form in. Wazza
Wazza i thought the same about the box,how small it is,no wonder its loud, i can see the cats are still in place, cheers Dale.
Just out of interest two questions. does anyone know if installing a tubi, capristo etc, has any effect on the warranty of the car? Furthermore is it a guarantee that installing these exhausts won't actually REDUCE power output? I know of exhausts in other cars that do just that. Alex
It's not a simple answer to this question. Basically, the Ferrari warranties reserve the right to decline on the basis of non-standard parts. Therefore if they really wanted to be picky they could blame a fault on the different exhaust. However this never happens in reality. If your suspension goes then thats not connected to the exhaust in any way and your warranty will be fine for that. So basically, installing a new tubi, capristo etc has NO effect on warranty.
I don't totally agree with Rico, but it's just a matter of emphasis. I would restate Rico's first sentance as - 'It "IS" a simple answer to this question'. It DOES affect your warranty. Everything else Rico stated I agree with. It may sound like I'm being picky but it's important to realize this. The point is they could easily choose to decline the warranty; It very rarely happens but for example, as has happened with a challenge car (and yes I know the challenge cars don't come with a warranty but the argument's the same), which was, because a non standard exhaust system was fitted to the car it caused an unusually high amount of vibration through the car therefore the an unrelated part of the car broke was because of the extra exhaust vibration so no cigar. Small point but worth remembering. I always had Tubis fitted myself on previous cars and never had a problem with warranty Wazza
Interesting Warren. I suppose therefore the dealers can always make a case for nulling the warranty if they really want to. I suppose you have to think long and hard it with the a car like the stradal or any new F car for that matter.
