I went down to Maranello today and my friends at Tubistyle installed their 360 cs system on my car. If you have a CS i really cannot emphasize what a difference the system makes. The sound at idle is just so much more full and melodical than the standard exhaust. Before installing the tubi i thought that the standard exhaust was good and had a nice sound but i was dead wrong. The tubi is a huge improvement over the standard system. If you look at the quality of material and workmanship in the standard exhaust and then look at the tubi system it is really a world apart. When i have a chance, maybe this weekend i will post a video/ audio clip of the car with the new exhaust.

Does it change the upper rev range note? I've always loved stock Stradale exhausts above the 6000rpm mark. Does it still have that racecar shriek?

This will be me saturday project but believe me , the car has really changed personality. Funny thing, when the exhaust was being taken out there was a 430 next to it and the technicians could not keep their mouths shut about much they preferred the cs over the 430. To put the topping on the car one of the owners drove my car after lunch ( he has owned a 430 and 360 but never drove a cs) and could not believe how responsive the cs compared to the 360 and the new 430. It is nice to have people that work daily with Ferrari's compliment you on their favourite Ferrari. Funny thing is that when i bought the car last year my friend at Tubi told me i should be buying a 430 and i said to him no way! i wanted the cs. Now he knows why!

The car still has the shriek over 6000 but it is a higher pitched and more melodical note. I have also noticed a more fluid progression of the engine noise vis a vis the rev counter. Before the car sounded sort of dead until about 4500 rpm and felt very sluggish. The car now sounds more fluid in the lower half of the rpm gauge: I must admit that it is a real improvement over the standard system. Then when you take the standard system out and see what crappy material they use versus the tubi 304 inxo stainless steel you really begin to wonder how they get away with charging you over 200 grand for a car and would use such mediocre quality material for the exhaust. It seems tha Ferrari spares no change on the engine, chassis, body parts, and brakes and then they get sort of lazy on some of the other details.

Peter, if you pull the vacuum lines on the stock 360CS you get a similar sound, because the valves stay open using booth pipes. It's louder on the low revs, but the same up in the high RPM's.

I pulled my values open and love the sound. However nothing compared to my straight piped tubi 360 in terms of sound. Crazy Loud but good loud!

I look forward to hearing the sound bite of the CS with Tubi maybe I will go that route on mine

I have the straight pipes (no cats) and the Tubi NGT (racing version of the Tubi) on my CS. It is absolutely amazingly loud, but sounds so f'n sweet. When you press the gas pedal, the car makes noises that gives you chills.

Sorry - but I've heard a few cars with this treatment done (wiring the valve open and disconnecting the vacuum hose) and it sounds really coarse - really really bad at idle/low rpm - almost tractor like to my ears. Don't bother - Get an N-GT.

peter - please post video link. I can host the file for a few days if you need it. I'm on the fence about NGT; dealer so NO, heart says YES. I would really like to hear it!

I have always run the Tubi NGT since the day I bought my Challenge Stradale. I've always liked it and have no complaints; it is what a true performance exhaust should be. It shrieks at high rpms. The bad part about Tubi NGT is that the exhaust pipes are designed to be more minimalist and as such, have no inner wall to prevent discoloration like the other Tubi models. The NGT sticks out a little farther than Tubi's other models, which is nice, since the drippings fall to the ground instead of upon the bumper.

I haven't figured out how to get the color back, but Frank Yarde says that muramic acid works fine.

I just ordered a Tubi NGT for a 2002 Red/Tan spider. I can not wait to install it. A friend of mine ILUV... has the CS with a Tubi NGT and STRAIGHT pipes. It is freakin LOUD. I hope that with JUST installing the NGT that it will be somewhere [PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE] between a standard TUBI and the NGT with straight pipes.

You will mess up the cats. It is fine to do this BUT ONLY ONCE ALL IS HOT. If you do it from cold the cats do not heat up properly and then you are in for an expensive change.

In addition you do not need to put caps on, just pull 'em off when hot and push 'em back on afterwards.
