360 driver door won't open

I cannot seem to get the door on the 360 to open on the driver side. Any suggestions? I've looked through the forum and haven't found anything quite specific yet.

No, I'm not trying to steal it - I have the key.

From what I've seen, this happens to every 360 that's ever rolled out of the factory.

 

Once it happened to me from the inside and I thought he cable snapped but actually only got disconnected (it has a little plastic thing that secures the cable and somehow the plastic thing shifted and the cable got disconnected)

Having red quite a few threads regarding this problem, I wonder if anyone found a way to secure it won't happen again?
I mean; If it's down to 2 or 3 root causes, it shouldn't be much of an issue to find uprated or self made items in order to get rid of these problems once and for all...
