I have a 2001 360 Spider. All of a sudden the key fob button does not get a solid red dash light; it continues to blink. The engine starts as normal but the flasher switch doesn't turn the flashers off. With the red security light on the lower left dash not turning solid red I suspect that the problem is related to the alarm system?

i also have a problem with the top not retracting all the way which obviously is not related to the flashers.

I will certainly appreciate any suggestions! This forum is fantastic!

Have you tried a long push of the fob button? Sometimes the alarm goes into panic mode.

The LED is supposed to extinguish completely if all is ok. Sometimes a flashing LED is a sign of a faulty siren battery.

Another cause of flashing is the triggering of the inertia switch which usually happens when the car is in an accident, but other things can set it off. There is a reset button on top of the switch (check your owner's manual for a location). There is a circular rubber cover on the floor of the driver's footwell which needs to be removed to access the reset button. In theory, the switch is supposed to stop the fuel pumps from operating also, but I have seen strange things happen with that switch.

    Lots of possibilities.

I'm not sure if the roof is linked to the Immobiliser system. The engine lid closed microswitch switch does send data to both the Immo ECU and the Roof ECU, but I think that's about it. I see no wiring between the two ECUs (including databusses)

    Experts?

Reset inertia switch. If it has some resistance from dirt, corrosion etc it will set off flashers. Resetting a time or two usually cures it.

A friend had a similar issue with his 360, the key fob routine with the immobilizer did odd things. The issue was traced to the backup battery for the immobilizer (from memory up front under the hood). It leaked its contents onto one of the immobilizer black boxes. From memory a replacement from a Corvette worked.

For clarification, the battery is in the siren. Corvette sirens work sometimes, not always. That's why @gobble offers his properly programmed replacement sirens.
