Is there anything I need to watch out for, or do in a particular order when I turn the switch off to hopefully reset the "check engine" light? I will let the car cool down, probably overnight and try the switch in the am, let it sit for a while then turn to "on" and will let it idle for 15-20 minutes or so. Anything else I need to do? Light came on randomly while on a drive today. 5th gear, ac on and jumped on the gas as I was on an on ramp and when I looked down I saw the light on...

    Thanks.

    John,
This looks familiar to me. Does the check engine light is the only light that pop up?

Yes. That is the only light that came up and currently is still on.

Ok. Big part of the time that light is related to the exhaust system. You can turn off that master switch off without any concern. But when you turn it back on you need to leave the car on for 10 min running until the EUC reads all the maps and check everything. If the light still there you need to read that code. You can get a o2 scanner at cotsco for 20 bucks. All you need is to get the code.

    John,

I have a scanner you can borrow or I can bring to C&C to check out/clear the code. That drive cycle is a giant PITA to do so honestly I don't recommend attempting it. You need about 20 minutes of proper roads and no traffic as the instructions are quite specific. (I did it at 4am!)

Shoot me an email if you want to do the scanner routine.
