    So, ive been noticing that the EVAP hoses along with the Fuel lines coming from the fuel pumps are starting to turn to goo. It appears that the inner part of the hoses are nylon and not the source of the goo. It is the outer rubber sheathing that is actually the source. Is it really necessary to replace these since its not the nylon hose that is actually breaking down? I have used some sprayway glass cleaner to clean these off with a microfiber towel, and they seem to be pretty decent after the goo is gone. There are no EVAP leaks currently. Maybe trim the rubber part off the hoses and replace with some kind of heat shielding? Obviously, my plan is to go ahead and replace the fuel hoses for good measure since they probably need to be replaced anyways. Any recommendations from people that have been down this road?
    maybe some sheathing like this?

    I had the same problem on a 99 360. I bought all new evap lines. All the lines, but one, I received were a different style than the originals, with a fabric webbing at the end of each line while one was of the original style. In the previous 4 years since I replaced the lines the new line that was of the original style is turning to goo while all the other lines that are of the new style are like new. My advice is just by new ones and make sure they are of the new style.

    Years ago I looked up the material they are made from. It is well known to do that. It was a very poor choice to make them that way. As I recall it was advised not to be used with petro chemicals.
