Hello Everyone, I am new to the forums. I was hoping someone could help me out with some info. I own a 360 F1 Coupe and I just got it out of the body shop to touch up rock chips. Apparently somebody broke my reverse gear lever. My car can now be put into reverse without lifting the lever. All I would have to do is slightly tug the lever back and it will turn into reverse. Basically, the box was opened up and they found a little piece of plastic that broke off which blocked the reverse lever from engaging unless it is lifted. I guess my questions are -If I drive the car at 65mph on the freeway and I accidentally hit the reverse switch will it go into reverse while I am driving? -Also if this has happenned to anyone before, what does it take to fix it and how much would it cost? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Sounds like a dangerous situation, given that there would be a strong popensity for the car to shift into reverse at high speeds. I'd suggest taking it to the dealer to have them look at it and provide an estimate. Congratulations on your car, though!
One of the fail safe features of the paddle shifter is the smarts in the control unit which will not shift into a gear even if purposely activated when it's the wrong gear selection. It might be a problem when inadvertently it is shifted into reverse when standing still in a tight spot.
