Anyone going with USA available GL4 ?
A new entry that specifically says it works great in Ferrari transaxles. See last paragraph. Australian product, so have to see if there is a US Distributor. They have a "see if this works in your vehicle" section, and it works in all our transaxles without tearing up synchronizers. GL-4, GL-5, and MT-1. Nulon Full Synthetic 75W-90 Performance Smooth Shift Manual Gearbox and Transaxle Oil Nulon SYN75W90 is a fully synthetic API GL-5 and API MT-1 hypoid gear oil, providing superior wear protection, excellent low temperature characteristics and high temperature stability when compared to conventional mineral gear oils. It is the preferred substitute for SAE 80W-90 or SAE 90 oil promoting smoother, faster gear changes. Ideal for use in transaxles with combined manual gearbox and hypoid differential. It is recommended for use in passenger cars, towing, 4x4, light commercial and racing conditions Nulon SYN75W90 is formulated from hydrofinished base oils with superior additive packages to enhance wear protection, corrosion protection, and low temperature characteristics. Fyi ..the sales pamplets on rotra mention similar items/ words ....and that is what sold me a year ago APPLICATIONS Eni Rotra LSX 75W-90 is a special top sythetic lubricant for manual gearboxes requiring an API GL-4 or GL-5 level of performance. It has especially formulated for the lubrication of both gearboxes and differentials in modern vehicles CUSTOMER ADVANTAGES • This product guarantees an extraordinary thermo-oxidative stabilty, an exceptional protection against corrosion, and full seal compatibility. it can satisfy the most demanding specifications of OEMs for Long-drain Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
Have e-mailed them to see if Nulon has a US distributor. So far none of the parts houses in Australia will ship it to the US.
Good question and I wonder if just doing 50/50 between those is a good compromise ? Seems like MT90 is best for the trans and the NS best for axles, half of each ? Pretty sure that they can be mixed ....

The place I got it from was pick up only and has to buy tweleve ...here is another alternative ..more expensive but at least you don't have to buy case https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F222687408242 Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
I bought mine from Superperformance in the UK (where I am). With their sister company Motoworld, they are the only UK stockist
Heard back from the factory and no US distributor for Nulon, but for Australian owners, should work great. Trying to see if I can get someone to ship it to me. Rotra may be a good alternative. Had good luck with AGIP products when Ferrari was using them in the olden days.
Strange ..when I tried them last year they would not ship to me ..I glad for you Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
No lol...good one ...really my uncle nino .. Joking A place called taylor oil company in NJ ..they are a wholesaler Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
I can get Nulon easy over here, it's good oil. But that spiel does not even begin to address or even mention how they stop the extreme pressure additive (Sulpher/Phosphorous) from tearing away at the synchros. Read post 10 of this thread by Brian. After further research GL4 has the same additive but only half as much. That's the difference, go figure.
In this thread Brian has (yet) never flat out said what he was using in a 360. However read the link I provided in post #160.
Given my background..I would love to see us do a scientific method analysis If we can get 20 people with various mileage, use ( track or garage queen) and oil type to send out to Blackstone I am sure we can see what is truly happening I will be doing that with the oil that is in my car ..which is the dealer level she'll when it was serviced previously by prior owner. It should be a good indicator for gl 5 wear on copper So anyone is sending out oil ..maybe they can please post analysis Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
He likes to speak in tongues..... He has indicated that he was going back to GL4 with the 360 and 430. Which oil is not known.
where/when? The post I linked to was Apr 2016, and he specifically stated that the boxes of trashed transmission parts was due to failure of Shell lubricants.
I found a source for the Nulon in Australia. Will post results when I receive it. Shipping is, naturally, atrocious. 5 liters came to $192 including shipping, almost exactly the same as 5 liters of Rotra. Better than the Valvoline I currently use, which says not for manual gearboxes.
Check out post 37-38 I believe he indicated this to me in a PM. But as always, it was “ read between the lines” He did say MT-90 for 355 and he was considering the same for 360, I believe. It was over a year ago.
