Does this sound right to you guys?
On my 2001 F1 360 Spider when I start the car cold and shift from N to Reverse everything is fine. The problem occurs when I have been driving for a while and the car is Hot. The car will no longer shift from N to Reverse. They way I get into Reverse is to shift straight from 1st to Reverse, Does this sound right?

Is this normal? if not what could be going on?

    Anyone have this issue?

My car was doing this before I just had my new clutch installed, did it for about a year or so.

I have the same issue and I searched this site on "reverse" and found some good posts particularly by Voicey and Rustybits. I am taking it to the shop tomorrow to have the PIS (point of initial slip) checked. Their posts say that the computer will not engage reverse from neutral if the clutch is dragging a little bit which causes the input shaft to turn some. The PIS can be adjusted. Hopefully this is all it is.

Went to the shop and the mechanic adjusted the PIS from 5.0 to 5.4. It seems to have remedied the problem.

    That's good.
Would that for you it was more of a computer issue than cutch issue?
Just curious what your mechanic might have said.

He says it is an indication of clutch wear. The clutch is about 60% worn.

Thank you for posting this. I just got my car back from the shop and it started doing this. I did have the clutch adjusted. I guess it needs adjusting again.

No problem. Do you happen to know if they used the proper diagnostic equipment to determine if there was any rotation of the input shaft (when there should not be) as the basis for making the adjustment?

I had exactly this issue on my 430, adjusted the PIS - still there, replaced the clutch - still there - finally replaced the actuator - problem cured - thankfully all under warranty.
