Mr. Giuseppe Bonollo, the director of product stragety at Ferrari, recently gave out the statistics- Total 360's produced over 5 years-17,500 Coupes Total - 10,000 Standard Coupes - 8,500 Challenge Stradales- 1,200 Race Cars - 300 Spiders - 7,500 Monthly capability - 5,000 cars Most produced in a month- 4,900 in December, 2004 Also, One (1) more Enzo will be built #400 to be auctioned off by Sotheby's on May 23 with proceeds going to Tsunami relief. There you have it.
Read before you submit annual total production of all production models has neve exceeded the 5,000 vehicles you state as monthly production total
It's correct, Gary. Ferrari officials have said many times that they wouldn't exceed their 5k monthly capacity of producing cars. In fact, US dealers are complaining of reduced allocations this year due to three new dealerships opening. I wonder if that's going to change if and when the entry level California will be released.
while i'm sure those numbers are "directionally correct" (or better), i don't believe they're exact for a moment. other than limited production vehicles, they've never produced to such round numbers all-around. doody.
Sorry but it simply cannot be correct that Ferrari produced 4900 cars in Dec 04. Just look at the numbers: 17500 360's produced over FIVE YEARS, that's an average of 3500 per YEAR! For that 5 year period, the 360 was by far the biggest selling model. If in Dec 04, they produced not only the whole YEAR'S 360 quota, but another 1400 cars, were they closed from Jan-Nov? I think Mr .Bonollo was saying that the ANNUAL production for the YEAR ended Dec 04 was 4900 units.
thank you for the info. so basicly f355 was made like 11200+. based on all the "unlike F355 the 360 is mass produced" talk, i always though for each F355 there is like 3 modena's. 11200 vs 17500 just a 50% boost, nothing major
Clive, are the figs available somewhere...or are you a statto? Any idea on the number of 575's made? Baring the Super America, am I right in thinking that they finished making the 575's?
I tried to reconcile the monthly numbers as well, thinking that was a high number for one month since in 5 years only 17,500 total 360's were made. However, apparently he knows Ferrari's numbers. He stated 12/04 was a 4,900 unit month. He did not say 4,900 360's were produced. I have a feeling the Dec figure may include 430's in production as well as 575's, Super America's, and 612's. But this might also include Maseratti's eventhough he did not mention that! Can only report what I read of an interview with him.
The monthly capacity of 5,000 has to be a misprint. Watching them build the cars clearly indicate they are fortunate to build 20 a day. I believe they indicated 16 a day.
My recollection from my factory tour of a few weeks ago was 19 cars per day, but I couldn't swear to it. Gary
I know it looks like I'm a mine of information, but the truth is........ I picked up a very handy little booklet last time I was at Maranello StAlbans! It's called "A Guide to Ferrari Road Cars" and covers all cars produced, as well as those imported to the UK from 1960 -2002. Because it only covers cars up to 2002, and the 575 was current at that time, there are no total production figures, just the volume imported up to 2002 which was.... 17 manual, 58 F1
I was told they made a ratio of 2.5 to 1 coupes to spiders. But by your numbers it looks likethey made close to an even amount of both...
It didn't beat the 308 record of 20 000 + units wait a minute, that figure is of the 308/328 combined (15 year period) then we'll have to wait until the 430's production is over to figure out which is the most produced Ferrari ever. but considering it took 308/328 more than 15 years to manage 20 000 units...
I will research the monthly number figure to verify. I will be in Italy soon and can stop by the factory and inquire. While the 4,900 number for 12/04 seems high it is possible, and, again, that might include Masaretti. I do believe they are built side by side.
