360 finally runs great!!

A neighbor had a 306 that had a bad miss, and was tired of dumping money in a 15 year old car, but checked the comp and it was even, so I bought it. One bad coil on plug, needed variators and other maintenance. The only thing that the previous owner did right is change the oil regularly. It was never driven hard and I am not sure if that was part of the problem. After putting the variators, timing belts and degreeing the cams. It still had no power. Had all kinds of codes popping up, but no check engine light. Could never nail any of the codes to a problem, so I just drove it easily (kind of hard to do) after resetting the ECU's overnight. Started running better and better if I did not step on the gas hard. It even shut all the monitors off. Anyway I just wanted to pass this on. As a 2001 car I expected the computers to learn very quickly, but in reality, they do not. I see a lot of other posts of rough running and no obvious problems. HOPE THIS WILL HELP!!
