Hello everyone, I've been lurking here for a while. I've been oscillating back and forth between a 360/430 and a Gallardo for the past 3 months. I think I'm steering towards spending a bit more on an LP560 and going that route..... Anyway, in the process of all the cars I've tracked during my 360/430/Gallardo searching I came across this one the other day on Ebay. I don't know the car and never made it as far as PPI of course, but the seller was willing to let it go for $82K. For a 2004 with 14.5Kmi that seems like a steal but again, it may be in poor shape...I simply don't know as I never made a firm commitment after deciding on the LP560. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/?cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p3984.m1432.l2649&item=251081772613&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBOFFX%3AIT#ht_12413wt_1170 Just mentioning it case it IS a clean car and someone is looking. Glad to be a member of FC and still have plans on a 430 some day!
Have you considered a CS? I just came from a Gallardo SE. The CS does not have the "wow, look at me factor" or the straight line speed (but it isnt slow) but it is a much more enjoyable car to drive. If you hear someone refer to a car as a drivers car, the CS is the finest example of it. The LP's are nice but getting on in years. Might be worth the wait to see what the Gallardo replacement will bring.
Honestly it has been the hardest choice I've ever made between two vehicles. I love the WOW factor of the LP560. Love that front nose, love the V10 sound, and frankly the one I'm looking at is an amazing example with TONS of extras for a dirt cheap price. Passes all PPI easily, has 2 extra exhaust systems, CCBs, literally every single option for a steal. In the perfect Verde Ithaca color I love. All the custom stitching, Alcantara work, new tires, etc. Fabspeed exhaust, RSC exhaust, plus stock. But I do plan on enjoying it for a while and either adding a F430 or selling it to get one. It's very tough for me. Ideally, I prefer the looks of the F430 and from everyone I have talked to they seem to have a more communicative feel in steering. But I do like the idea of 4WD in the Gallardo in case of future power increases. And honestly that's from my experience with the 2007 Z06 I own. I know, I know, worlds of difference. But 505HP with 2WD and I can't get over 70% throttle in first or second even with brand new Pilot Super Sport tires. And that's one of the main reasons for the new car selection. It will be my weekend toy, something to cruise in 150 miles per weekend, so I want the speed, I want the comfort, but I won't be tracking my car ever. Hence I had left the 360CS out of the selections to answer Spdrcrj's question. Am I wrong there in my thinking? I get tired of shifting the 3 pedal Z06 after about 75 miles since much of it is city stoplights, a brief highway jaunt to lunch, then finally out to a nice country drive. So while that still keeps both in play since they both have a paddle shift design, I then look at my $160K price on a 2009 LP560 with over $30K in options exactly the way I would have done them, versus spending the same money to get a 1-2 year older F430 without the options I would want. As you'll see my mind is far from made up...I'm getting ready to post a F430 next that I'd like to see if anyone knows. So I still have time to change my mind! Thanks.
The reason the LP560 is cheaper is supply and demand. The 430 is a more desirable car. You said it yourself...... All these cars are beyond ridiculous to drive in everyday traffic. They're way faster than the roads will allow anyways. So why not go for the car that has actual value? CS all the way.
