Hello members, I am in need of some guidance on how to remove the bottom carpet liner in the front compartment (frunk) on a 360 spider.

I removed the back and left panels (straight forward enough) to replace the alarm siren and am thankful for the comprehensive posts on this site for that procedure.

While I have the above 2 panels removed, I want to replace the tool kit straps. The strap that is riveted to the floor/bottom carpet liner is what I need to replace. I can't see how the floor/bottom liner is fastened to the car. Can anyone share their experience so I can remove it?

    Much appreciated!

IIRC it’s glued to the floor.

All sides need to be removed and that part just lifts up

Thanks guys. I want to remove it to take out the the old rivets (from bottom tool kit belt) and be able to put in new ones with the backer plate in place. All the best!

Picture of the bottom and you'll see that there's 3 dollops of glue towards the front that holds the bottom pan down.

Like others have said, you need to remove all the panels before you can pull up on the bottom pan.

Maybe sacrilege but I just drilled out the old rivets and riveted in the replacement.

Apparently there is a small rectangular metal plate underneath that rivets go through to secure the strap (like on top). Were you able to secure the strap with rivets not knowing if the plate on the underside fell off? Given the glorious noise the car makes you probably don't hear any rattling of the old rivet bits?

Even if I didn't need to remove the straps, I would still drill out those cheap, ugly rivets and replace them with some nice black anodized Allen pan head machine screws. Same thing for the lame standard slot headed bolts that hold the air filter covers in place.

I did the rivets one at a time. But yeah, if it fell off I probably can’t hear it.
