has anyone ever had their fuel pump replaced on the 360? is it normal wear and tear?
I've removed my fuel pump in order to replace the sending unit. How many miles on your car? Are you sure the fuel pump is bad or perhaps one of the connections has come loose or something? Did you check fuses? Ray
Ferrari dealer service told me there is a gas leak that its recommended to have both of fuel pumps replaced. i have 30k miles on my 360, and i hv been told its standard W&T after 5 yrs. .... is it true?
man.. the weed must be really strong in Hong Kong or something The 5 year thing is complete BS. I've never heard that, nor does it make any sense. The pumps last as long as they last. As far as a "leak" from the fuel pump, where exactly is it leaking to? The fuel pump is submerged under gas. Is there a leak some place else or what are they talking about? Try to catch them when they aren't buzzed and let us know what they say. Also, what specifically is wrong with the car? Does it exhibit some sort of problem to make them think there is an issue with the fuel pump? It's not impossible something can go wrong with your fuel pump, but I'm just wondering what specifically. Did they remove one or both of the fuel pumps to check for a pressure leak or something? Or did they check the fuel pressure in the lines or what? Tell them not to hit the bong near the gas tanks also... because this could ignite the fumes... ;-) Ray
Some of the F360 have this problem, the owner complain fuel smell in the cabin and find that the fuel leakage from the top of fuel pump. This is easy to check after remove the cover.
I have fuel leak problem also. My fuel hoses always become very oily after a few drives. That includes all the rubber hoses, from the anti-evaporator all the way to the fuel rails. It must be leaking very slowly because I never smell anything. We opened up the covers and could not find where the leak is, all the hose are evenly greasy the whole length. Any advice?
i think the oily on the hose is not fuel hose.It is oil vapour hose.Fuel system leakage will cause engine warning light on in F360.
possibly may be leaking fumes from the ck valves common problem i have been told, check those have them use a smoke machine to detect the fume leak
Ferrari had a recall on some 360's fuel pump which mine was included, it was changed last year by the dealer warranty covered by the factory, so i did not pay anything.. mine is 2003, was changed last year so that's 5 year.
hi guys i am attaching a picture of fuel leakage as the result of fuel pump falfunction (told my ferrari service). not only the local dealer told me its normal W&T but also was told to replace the fuel pumps on both sides. Does it make sense to you? steve Image Unavailable, Please Login
In the photo, the fuel leakage from the top of fuel pump. Most of F360 have this problem, this is parts quality problem.
could you tell us more about this recall. I asked Ferrari dealer and they replied "there is no such thing". steve
I just bought a 360 and called up one of the local dealers (in Australia) to find out if there is any recall that is outstanding on my car.... there is only one... the fuel pump inspection. I will need to go in and have the fuel pump inspected for possible leaking issues (free of charge)... cheers, richie
thank you, the local dealer claimed they have never heard such thing. Is there any evidence/proof that I can present to the Ferrari dealer?
Can you claim a faulty parts of recall campagin even with when the car is not in warranty??? from IMSS..(HK)
Was there a change in performance due to the bad fuel pump ? Did the engine run "lean" due to reduced fuel pressure ? Any error codes ? Thanks !
I believe that it's not truly a "pump" problem, but rather an oring problem with it sealing at the high pressure outlet of the sending unit/pump bracket. If that doesn't fix it, they will replace the fuel line to the rail. Does anyone know if the pump bracket is available seperately? justin
Hello guys, I have a RH Fuel pump leak..i've narrowed the leak down to the Circular pie piece on the top..i have a new part ordered, but will take weeks. What do you think about using epoxy or glue to stop the leak on the top in the short term for a couple drives? It wouldnt touch the fuel and I think it might be a short term fix until the part arrives. Thoughts? Its leaking in one small spot near the black outline on one of the "pie" pieces.
When one of my rollover valves was leaking I used clear epoxy painted on the surface and it seemed to seal it. I'm wary when it comes to high pressure fuel.. but it might work temporarily if the crack were small enough. Not sure I'd try it...
Circular pie piece on top? Do this but use JB Weld instead, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UJYCfGPdeg It work wonders if done right. No more leak or smells. Make sure to really fill it good to the tip of the circular thing. Letting it cure for a day is best before starting the car. You may not even need to replace the pump after doing this.
Here's my write up on the RnR..http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/360-430-sponsored-yellow-compass-group/527191-how-remove-replace-fuel-pump.html Be well prepared and at a leisurely pace it takes from one to two hours... wrenchworthiness is a plus.
