360 Gearbox oil hoses to exchanger - return hose?

    Which connection on the gearbox is the return hose? Is it the one on the top of the gearbox, or the one on the side of the gearbox?

    Thanks, I saw this. The diagram is wrong the way I see it. They have the part numbers switched on the hoses.

    #21 is identified as 'oil return tube' and goes to top of gearbox

    Thanks. #21 173687 is the longer hose. If you install it according tom the drawing, it is too long to connect and the shorter hose #18 173686 will not reach.

    I doubt if it matters much which way the lines are connected. The fluid circulates through a pretty small heat exchanger either way.

    Looked at mine. They are both tied together aft of the heat exchanger and run along the upper LHS side of the transmission case, then split about half way back going up and down to their respective fittings on the case. They don't look to be much different in length.
