Hey guys, just wanted to start a thread. I have found a guy in California that says he can take my headlight apart and make it look like brand new. The guys name is David at Performance Motorworks in Carson California. I removed my headlight lens and boxed it up and sent it to him. He is going to seperate the lens from the body and refinish the lens and polish it and spray a clearcoat over it. I will post pics to let everyone know how it turns out. He said the total cost would be 500-600 dollars. I have just read a lot of threads with this problem and maybe this could be the answer. Pics to follow.

I am also looking forward to seeing the difference.
My left light on the 360 is a bit foggy and it would be nice to have that cleaned out.
    Let us know....

    thanks

Just wanted to give an update. Dave is the man. Got the headlight back today and it looks amazing!!!!! If anyone has a faded or dull headlight, send it to him. He pulled it apart, color sanded the paint underneath, and polished and clear coated both sides of the lens. The headlight looks like brand new. He charged me 4.5 hours labor plus 30 bucks in materials so the total was about 575.00 after shipping both ways. I can't brag enough on Dave and his great service and work. Pictures to follow. Got to go put it back in!!!!!

Dave @ Premier Motorworks number is 310-762-9900. Give him a call, you might have to leave a message, but he will call you right back. I will get around to posting pics soon. But seriously, it looks better than new.

That sounds great, but his labor rate must match that of a cardiac surgeon!

If you ever tried this job yourself you'd say its money well spent, it takes quite a few hours per light to do and its risky if you've never done it before.

Its basically a PITA of a job. The headlights are sealed bonded (glued) together at the factory after painting and are not easy to split or cut open. You need to be very careful splitting them not to crack the plastic cover and basically destroy the headlight. The plastic covers are not sold as a spare part by Ferrari so get it wrong and you need to buy a whole new unit (not cheap).

If the lenses are plastic, a $30 rotary polisher from Harbor Freight & some polishing compound will make them look like new.

We tried every polishing compound and product known to man, the problem is they get hazed on the inside. Pic shortly, having trouble loading photos for some reason.

I would assume 430s would have the same problem but I haven't read of it here.

I know it is a different headlight but did F eliminate the hazing problem with the 430?

The glue must be heated inside of an oven or with a heat gun. The cover is then pulled apart and polished inside and out.
