My 360 headlights are now apart and the paintshop has asked me should the paint be matt or gloss? And are they the exact same colour as the body paint? Thanks
Gloss. I am curious how the repainting holds up please circle back after you use them for a while. My body shop refused to do it because they said the high temperature inside the light will cause the paint to fail. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
that's what I thought but they said they had done it before and it failed very quickly. I talked to somebody else who said the same thing too. The base is plastic so you have to prime it and then paint, which seems like a real pita with all the small curved surfaces in there.
I wonder what products their using. Maybe the units are sealed too quickly and don't have enough time to cure? The 360 certainly isn't the only car with painted headlights.
yeah I would love for my opinion to be wrong. I used 2000 degree clear coat and made it work, but curious what the OP ends up with, please post pics and updates!
Will report back on the outcome. AV Engineering here in the UK split it for me. Watching them, I can understand why most companies refuse to do it. My 360 is having a red PPF wrap put on it, hence the colour change. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
looks good. yeah splitting them really sucks. it's not impossible, but it takes some finesse. much easier the second or third time after you get the hang of it.
ok, so the seats in your car look horrible. remove them immediately and send them to me. i will save you from seeing them again. LOL. LOVE THEM...
A quality base/clear system should work. A black car sitting in the summer sun in Florida will get so hot it will begin to cook a raw egg. I actually won a bet on that one. There are a lot of "professionals" out there that are not. Do any of these professionals ask themselves how Ferrari managed to do it (?).
