A few days ago, when it was hot and sunny (yup we get 1 day a year like that in the uk), the headliner came down on me, spreading bits of black foam all over me and the car.

I called a couple of auto trimmers to get prices - Ferrari specialist £1200 plus needed the car for a week, local hot rod trimming specialist £280 needed the car for a day.

Went with the latter, and he has done a superb job, he had to replace the leather but had matching black nappa leather in stock.

If you are in the UK and need your headliner fixing I can recommend Chris at

Didnt think to take pics of me covered in black crap. No point in showing you a pic of the finished job as it looks like it did before

It happened, I have no affiliation with the company that did the work, just pleased with the job and thought it might help others

For those that did the DIY, is it easy to extract?

    Did mine my self twice-/.
I had the fabric grey stock headliner that fell off after I tried to clean a stain…

I bought a used genuine black leather hl from a wreck.

first time I installed it I used this spray can adhesive from an online hl repair shop… the hl fell off in a week.

2nd time I used a dap type tile adhesive. Apply to the hl and the roof let get tacky then when the two touch they will not separate.

getting the old adhesive off is the bad part…. Be careful to not put any dents or impressions in the thin al roof!
