As it says, the heater is not working. I am not sure if it could be connected, but I had a flat battery the other day (I think - but am not certain - I left the front boot open for 5 days without using the car and the light drained the car) and I started the car by jump leads to the battery terminal. The temerature control switch on the dash seems to be working as the air distribution and fan speeds change when it is turned, but only cooled air is produced. Any ideas what could cause it to stop providing warmed air?

Make sure the AC button is ON.

If the AC button is OFF the heater won't work

There is an auxillary pump that sometimes sticks if the coolant gets low. Check the coolant level, turn the a/c all the way cold, run the car till coolant temp is normal then turn all the way hot on defrost and hold the engine around 2500 rpm, keep an eye on the temp gauge, wait for it to drop a little and see if warm air comes out. If it does you may just have an air pocket, if not the aux pump might need replacement. Most of the cars that we see get fixed by just running the heater on full and bleeding the cooling system.

This is interesting. The AC switch is on, but it was in the off setting when the battery went flat. I wonder if it the flow valve has got stuck int he off position. I will look at coolant level too.

Done all that, but still not working. The coolant level was fine, though I topped it up just to make sure. WHere is the aux pump, and can you test it or do you need an SD2?
