First of all read the manual to be absolutely sure you have the right settings - the heater needs the a/c on not off because its a climate control system - just turn the temp up

Tried that I have owned the car for three years up to date on how the controls work.

    Thanks for the reply

Check the coolant level is full, then try switching the A/C temp from full old to full hot a couple of times with the engine running and warm. Then drive the car or hold a 2500 rpm for a few minutes, normally does the trick, if not time for proper diagnosis

    Agree with above..
    1) Check the coolant, low coolant means not getting to heating coil
    2) Press the left most round button below the switches on the left of the steering wheel. This should tell you the temperature outside on the dash. This should be about right according to your local temp. If wrong then your outside temp sensor or wiring is bad
    3) Check the interior temperature sensor on right below steering wheel. Do you hear the fan sucking in air?
    4) If all above is OK then you can go to your mechanic/dealership to have it connected to a scanner.
    5) I'll bet then it will be a bad heater valve motor or aux circulaiton pump in area behind front trunk cover below windshield.

I would question where the coolant went? Leaking out? being burnt as a leak in to combustion chamber. Have you checked the oil to make sure it is not leaking into the block?

Ok, IT WAS NOT THE COOLANT fool... stop creating monstrous problems on your expensive cars already. Thanks.. THESE CARS NEED A HEATER RESET EVERYTIME THE Battery is low , duh, or disconnected. It’s simple. The thread is great on this site. Love always,

So, you felt compelled to comment in this way on a 6 year old thread why? Obviously it was low coolant since the OP stated it was the issue.
