I had just walked a few feet from the door of the Chinese restaurant I had dinner at with my mom, when a bright red car that was hiding behind a big SUV caught my eye. My jaw dropped and I could only manage two words from my mouth, “Oh ****.” I point at it and my mom says “Yeah, it’s a Corvette.” I snap back at her and say “No! It’s a Ferrari!”

So I walk over and the first thing I noticed was the engine bay through the glass window. The red valve covers with the yellow Ferrari emblem looked great. Moved on to the window to look in, using my hands to block out the glare, the tan interior looked good with the black dash and silver center console. Kind of in a daze, I reached for my camera as if it was floating in the air, and then I realize I had left it in my car when my mom came to pick me up. So in a hurry to get back home and grab the camera, I ushered my mom to her car, telling her we need to get my camera. Then she had one of those moments, you know, where she has a somewhat good idea. She wrote a note and placed it inside the door handle, saying we could be right back.

It was perfect time for traffic to get in the way, and it took us almost 10 minutes to grab my camera, throw on my Ferrari shirt I had got while in Venice, and get back to the parking lot. But by the time we got there, it was gone! My heart sunk as the harsh reality that anybody who could afford that car wouldn’t wait around for a Ferrari fan to take a few pictures, sunk in. The huge smile on my face turned to a huge frown, and I felt like I did when my high school sweetheart dumped me.

I didn’t notice if it had dealer tags on it or not. The only other two Ferrari’s I’ve seen around here are a yellow Testarossa that I spotted as I was getting money out of an ATM, and a silver 550 driving in the opposite direction I was. Hopefully I’ll see it again, and if I do I’ll actually take my time to appreciate such a beautiful car. Earlier today my mom was taking my brother to the dentist and they saw a red Countach, and my mom said the Ferrari was x10 better.

My first Ferrari experience was short, but very sweet.

Heh, sounds like Pat in his yellow TR and if it was a silver 360 instead of a 550, then that would be his partner in crime Bob :D Actually, there is a yellow 512m somewhere in Cameron Park. Yellow TR's are few and far between, so it narrows down the owners. That red Countach around town MAY be a kit, there only one real Countach that I know of in Elk Grove but its white.

There's a rouge group of fcar owners that meet in Folsom... they never socialize here :D :D :D

Spotted a silver 360 today, headed down Eastern towards I-80. It was about 3:30 – 4:00pm.
