I have to remove the instrument cluster in my 2001 360. The steering wheel is in the way. How do I drop steering column down or pull it out. I am sending the cluster to FAI in Costa Messa for repair and I live in NJ. They said it was easy to drop the column. Any thoughts.

I just did mine 30 mins ago.....

You need to take the upper and lower steering wheel shroud off.

You will see a small (5/16" I think ) hex head machine screw on the Left Side of the colum.
Remove that and it will allow you to lower the wheel a little more.
3rd pic with yellow paint on it.

Make sure you put a rag over the top of the steering wheel column when your pulling out the cluster.

You can scratch it very easily.

I have the F1 paddles. How do I take the plastic top and bottom parts of the steering column off to get started. I do not see any screws under there. The top pops off in the front. Does it pull out somehow??
