Hi Guys, Just got a late model 360, love the car!(obviously) I was wondering what suggestions you folks might have for good insurance carriers. I will not be using the car as an everyday driver, so mileage limits are ok. I currently use Condon and Skelly for collector car insurance. Any ideas? I will post pictures of the car in a day or two. It is Rosso Fiorano with tan/bourdeaux Daytona seats. Thanks
i've used both AAA and state farm. they are both very good. i live in los angeles (i am lucky that i have a good driving record) and my rates are reasonable (about $2000 per year for a stradale).
What is your deductable? For me in Seattle, it's only 1800 with 500 comprehensive and 1k collission as the deductable
i have the highest liability coverage ($500K) and $1000 deductible for both comprehensive and collision. i would guess that insurance rates in general would be a bit higher in LA than a lot of other places
" i would guess that insurance rates in general would be a bit higher in LA than a lot of other places " Your zip code can make a HUGE difference in what you pay for car insurance!
Everyime I read insurance quotes I feel like Ive transported into some weird alternate dimension. For anyone complaining about paying a couple of grand for a Ferrari 360, keep in mind that Im paying $2200 / year for my *truck* in NYC! Full coverage, 33 years old, married, spotless (and I mean SPOTLESS) driving record, WITH defensive driver class completion discount AND multi-car discount. The NSX runs me about $2600. I was quoted about $8k for a 911TT... This is all with Geico, but Ive shopped around quite a bit and no one was able to do much better.
A search on insurance will net you many more answers and more data on this... particularly in the general forum (not model specific).
I insure my cars up in the Catskills where I have a home and have been doing so for quite some time. In NJ, rates are sky high as well so I save a few grand a year (I have 4 cars) by keeping my cars in NYS as opposed to NJ. I have quite a few friend who own property in the Hamptons while residing in NYC and they save a bundle by registering their vehicles out on the island. If you have an alternative address to Brooklyn, I would definitely look into that.
Depending on your record and how much you drive the car...I thought the two best companies were Leland West or Hagerty. Hagerty will cover the replacement cost of the vehicle while Leland West will cover the purchase price of the vehicle. What that means if the car is difficult to replace or cost more used than new then you will to pay for the difference. Leland West was much cheaper than Hagerty. I currently use Farmers because my wife has a lead foot and got too many tickets. I am paying 3600 per year for a challenge stradale I just got. OUCH.
Nationwide. About 1200/year with 1k deductible, no mileage limit. They won't insure a 360, however, unless you are already insured by them. Art
