When driving the car it will not shift out of second gear. Only the way to get it out of second is knock it into neutral then upshift while driving, downshifts fine but can never upshift after second...any ideas????

Could be the clutch position sensor. Have you interrogated the OBD?

OBD will not tell you anything about F1 selector or clutch problems. You need an SD2/3 for that. Could be a multitude of problems, leaking F1 line, air in F1 system, shifter fork, clutch position sensor, etc. You need a qualified technician.

sound like you really need a new mechanic, if he cant figure it out in 2 months with the car, he's not going to get it.

Why would anyone let a mechanic try to figure out a problem for 2 months?
I think it's obvious he will never figure it out and doesn't have the diagnostic equipment to even start to solve the problem.
good luck with the new mechanic, good choice to change mechanics. Keep up posted with the status
