Define better... The Capristo L3 is the "race" exhaust and is louder than the Tubi

I HAVE HEARD OF SOME PROBLEMS WITH THE CAPRISTO EXHAUST MAINLY THAT IS SITS ON TOP OF THE TRANSMISSION AND THE VIBRATION CAUSES THE BRACKETS TO BREAK. IS THIS TRUE??

The only way to figure this out is go and listen to them. I haven't herd of those Capristo faults.

I have a '04 Spider and wanted an aftermarket exhaust. I read ALL the old threads on the subject, which I recommend that you do. After that you will likely come to the same conclusion I did: There are two camps, Tubi and Capristo and each has their firm champions. In short, one is not "better" than the other. I bought and installed the first Capristo "Twin." I'm very happy with it; not too loud, but certainly louder than stock. I can also go essentially "straight pipe" off the cats, with the push of a button. Frankly, I like the somewhat muffled tone better and nearly always leave it in that position. In addition to the sound, the muffler itself looks a lot nicer than the stock unit and is considerably lighter. As for the HP increase you read about, I can't really detect anything worth writing about. On the other hand, I didn't buy it for HP gains.

While I don't have a 360/Tubi combo near me to compare to, my understanding is the Tubi has a little lower frequency on the low end. The Capristo has a little higher frequency thus the common reference to sounding more "F-1'ish." In the end, both probably would sound good to you relative to stock. For more insight on the Capristo, you might give Nick (Nick's Forzaferrari) a call. You'll find his shop listed in the Sponsor section of this site. He's familiar with both brands and several others not mentioned here. Good luck.

I'd recommend the Capristo anyday. Feel free to give me a call regarding it.

Without being rude... please don't shout. Of course, if you have sight problems, then please forgive my ignorance....

Now, to answer your question... I have a tubi on my 355 and it drives me nuts! It is too loud and boomy at low (ie commuting) RPM. But it sounds awesome at high RPM! So, if your car is an everyday driver, then go Capristo.... if it is a weekend toy, then look at the tubi and the L3 Capristo.

As to vibration damage... I have not read about any problems from either... The tubi on 355 does set MANY car alarms off in parking structures however.

Hope this helps a little, Dave
