    1) Color gauge face (any color) can be the tech ONLY, or the entire instrument cluster.

    2) Carbon fiber LOOK interior accent (change out the alum. interior panels for carbon)

    3) Rear Bumper diffuser (similar to the 430) in black

    - I would be interested to see how many of you would install the above mods on your car.
    - Which ones (would you consider) ???
    - Would you do it yourself, or have someone do it for you ???
    - Do you think it would de-value your ferrari ???

If your into track driving and dont want to go down the route of buying a 360CS (for whatever reason, cost, etc.) then you can enhance your modena in a number of ways.

Simple (Inexpensive) Handling Upgrades for the Modena
    1. Change the flamblocks (rubber bushes) to the uprated items from the 360CS. (improved handling, more taught suspension).
    2. Pair of wheel spacers (for a wider track) or new alloys with wider tyres (mechanical grip).
    3. Rear anti-roll bar (significantly reduced body roll) for improved handling into corners.
    4. CS alignment specs or fast road for better handling
    5. Rosso Corsa or track biased tyres (they make a huge difference)

The only major difference is the uprated by 20% and lowered by 15mm springs, the official titanium items are silly prices but you can get a set made up quite cheaply in steel and they are almost as effective.

    Gearbox Software Reflash
    1. ECU reflash of 360CS f1 gearbox software if you have the auto f1

    Brakes
    1. Carbon pads or fast road, I recommend Ferrodo DS2500's. Very good.

I did the red gage faces on my Red/Tan 360 Spider but would not do the Carbon fiber look inside the car maybe the engine compartment. I have been thinking about the diffuser byt went with the Harmoney seats first then I will think about the other goodies.

430 Yellow tach would look awesome. And maybe carbon fiber brake handle and door sill.

Definitely the rear challenge grill, and maybe even a carbon fiber rear diffuser piece?

Are you sure this can be done? My dealer tells me that first of all it could only be done from a certain build date around mid 2003. Then it would include changing the clutch to the uprated one from the CS and also changing the TCU (gearbox ECU) to the CS one. Reflash is not possible according to them.
    Do you have more details?

    Cheers

I think your dealer wants to sell you lots of parts and labour :) Lol. Reflashing is very much possible. Tuners in the UK are doing this quite regularly. The Transmission Control Unit is software upgradable as I know of a couple of F1 automatic drivers who have had it done using their existing tcu ecu (no new part required) with just new software re-programmed into it.

I'll need to investigate whether the ECU was revised substantially between the years which would prevent it from accepting the later software but I've never heard of this as a problem.

Firstly on the clutch, yes it was an uprated item on the CS but it is not essential to fit it to take advantage of the newer software with faster 150ms shifts.

Ferrari also uprated the diffs too but the main reasoning behind both of these changes was for better reliability with LC (Launch Control). Ofcourse its well worth fitting the CS clutch in a Modena even if you dont do anything else simply because it is beefed up a bit and will take more abuse.

Trev Do you know that it you install a CS TCU does it need to be set-up with a SD2?

This very much depends on if Ferrari changed the TCU ECU between the model years. I've not looked at the model year parts yet to verify this. If it is pin compatible (i.e. the ecu loom, etc.) it should require no further messing around with. Plug in and go. The TCU ecu pretty much works on its own as its own seperate computer. Like most cars today each computer is almost 'self contained', basically so if one goes wrong it doesnt crash them all :)
