360 N-GT #2040 for sale

If it is S/N 2040 it is actually a 360 GT.
No great technical difference between N-GT and early GT's. It marked the point where Ferrari took over marketing and selling the cars themselves. Michelotto still built them.

 

Is there some reason as to why this is $279k, when I can but a 430-GT3 for less than $100k in Europe ?

Heinz, your silver 360 race car is a manual shifter too, right ?
Is it also a GTC ?

What I know is:

360 Challenge: 400 HP, Paddle shifter
360 NGT : 445 HP, Paddle shifter
360 GT: Modified NGT, lighter, 475 HP, also Paddle shifter ?
360 GTC: heavily modified NGT (aerodynamics, gearbox), sequential manual gearbox
475 HP, with no restrictors up to 550HP

Is that correct ? Are 360 GTs paddle shifter or do they have also an seqential manual
gearbox like GTCs have ?

If that's a GTC then it has the wrong wing. GTC wing has mounts on the side not in the middle.

 

Well it looks pretty much like mine (2032, black), only different gearbox. Hewland was probably ongoing option or so because I see these more installed around 2030 and later. I prefer the "original" actually more.
Price is a lot more than a 430, first real race car in bloodline.

Michelotto offered a very expensive hewland sequential conversion. A number of actively raced earlier cars were converted in period. I suspect my N-GT # 11 was one of the earliest converted as the set up is a bit different to the later cars as it is cable operated rather than rod. I am told the Veloqx team worked with Michelotto to develop the conversion.

 

Is this car a NGT or an GT or an orig. GTC ?

It is a GT for my money. The serial number alone shows that it is not an N-GT and the aero package is wrong for a GTC.

Well,i'm not a great expert on these cars ,but i follow them since years..
S/n 2040 is the last F131 GT , before Ferrari/Michelotto build the GTC version.

S/n 2040 was finished in Early 2003 in the ACO LM Version .
In the late 2004 , it was totaly revised , engine and gearbox, by Michelotto.

The rear big Wing with mounts on the side is for the FIA version , you can see that for example s/n 2038 also have the rear big Wing FIA Version , Even if this car was Born as F131GT .

The Price then for such a car ( in ACO Version ) was 410'000 Euro .
In 2006 the Same car, 2040 , was for sale asking 350'000 Euro.

These cars went back and forth to Michelotto for rebuilds and updates when they were actively raced. Michelotto offered a kit to retrofit an earlier model with the Hewland sequential box. Some cars had this done, hence today you find examples of all sorts of different configurations on the cars.

Scott is right with that. Not only with the gearbox they updated the cars, but also Engines that started with Step 2 configuration , arrived at the Step 4 or 5 Evolution after some rebuilds/overhauls .
