My post isn't really about the car, but the auction itself. I've seen this guy post this car with a buy it now 3-5x in the past of $95k. Now he put it up there with no reserve and its currently at 30k. I would imagine the car would go for anything from 45-60k.

My question for the group is, do you think he would ever actually go through with the auction?

He clearly has a much higher expectation of the car. At the end of the auction listing he has one of those "I reserve the right to end the auction at any time and sell locally." So if the auction ends and say per chance I was the high bidder at 50k and he decides not to sell, would I have any legal recourse? I would think yes, but it would be about a 10-20% success rate and cost some $$. What are your thoughts?

I would try to find out what exactly are the "title issues" and "accident issues". If there was an accident with damage, even with repairs done, 95K IMO is trying to pull a quick one. My guess is he though he could come up.

The car still has a branded title, regardless of what the sellers says. With so many 360 Spiders out there, I suggest looking for one with a clean title. Seller isn't going to give this car away. The no reserve is a good marketing tool for the seller.

A salvage title is a salvage title. the car has no value but as parts. look at what he said: he was the owner when it was damage and bought it back. if that is true than why did it sell in Fl and go to MD and get repaired and titled?
i have never seen a car with a little side damage get totaled out ($ 65,000 +).
if you just read on what he says, than you know he is full of it.......

He bought the car at auction and thought he could move it to another state and clean the title up and make a lot of money, but carfax and the other car title check companies are keeping better records and he got screwed instead of screwing someone else!!!

Sounds like a stupid foreigner the way it is poorly written. Plus, the all caps is so Queens or Brooklyn. He ought to list it on craigslist.org in NY metro, where there is tons of junk like that. I'd stay away.

If it's too low it'll get pulled. I've seen a little scam where they change the auction end date and next thing you know the auction is over. Not sure how it works but have seen an item that was no reserve and then the auction is over a day before previously indicated, showing the new end time.

This car was listed a couple of years ago. It has now been in a wreck, totaled and now bought from an insurance company as a salvage....this is English correct? Ok, now that I've said it here it is in Lamen Terms.....BAD INVESTMENT!!!!

Take a look at the bottom of his auction...... As good as a reserve.

If he owneed it at the time of the accident im 100% sure he took pics of the damage. Ask him for BEFORE pics and see how bad it was. Maybe after lookig at them you wont even bother with the car.

he states he has pics of the damage.if the car cks out good it might be a great buy for someone to enjoy a 360 at a much lower price.car fax is not always correct .the larger wheels have to go too large imo

I have seen this car alot on ebay. I would expect some frame damage. If it was that great of a deal it would have been long gone..
also if you had a car that had minor damage, would you not post the pics, so it would sell faster and for more.

I asked for the pics and more complete report of damage early this morning. I actually like the color and for the right price might be a good dd.
    Surprisingly, no response

Anyone seriously considering it - did you look at the seller's feedback? The spelling/grammatical errors should give any buyer serious pause, but the feedback confirms this more - 5 negatives in the last 12 months.

    Including:

Beware of this seller. Will never do business with again!

I just ran the vin on Copart. Copart is probably the biggest insurance auction in the world. It looks like the car was bought there in February 2006. Unfortunetly there are no pictures listed, but the damage says "side". At the time of that sale it had 5,913 miles. It was sold at the Jacksonville Florida auction site on a Florida salvage title.
I have dealt alot in salvage title cars and parts. Salvage title cars are not for everyone. However when you get the truth about the car. Exact damage, before pictures, repair information, ect. They can be great money savers. Usually you can expect to save 25% or more. I have bought alot of salvage cars and have had them repaired for my self personally. They have all been great cars. Also, despite a common misconception, they have all been easy to resell, when I want to upgrade to the next one.
    Hope this was helpfull.

After requesting more info on the 10th, I got pictures tonight 1 hour before bidding ended, along with this message:

"78k for the car and 83k with wheels last price i
just sent the photos now yes it was in an accident
    when i was in florida
let me know asap because i will not let it go for
67k and i will relist it tomorrow."

Bidding is at $59k right now. I guess so much for "No Reserve". If someone bids 60 and he doesn't sell at that "No Reserve" price, kind of defeats the purpose of NR Ebay...
It did end at $67k. Huhm, this could get interesting..

I was In surgery all day on my shoulder. Old college football injury so
I didn't resins to over 20 buyers and because of this I don't have to
sell it to the highest bidder and I will not let it go that cheap! I
have all the proof and it is legit if he does take this to court. I will
relist it tomorrow and if anyone wants it now for a buy it now of 78k
than do it before I relist it.
    Thank you.

    He seems very forthcoming

" want to clear this salvage issue out because the title IS NOT SALVAGE THE TITLE IS CLEAN AND CLEAR NO LIEN OR ANY SALVAGE ISSUES ON IT,
IT IS A REGULAR MARYLAND TITLE AND CLEAR TITLE NOT SALVAGE,
ONLY THE HISTORY SHOWS AN ACCIDENT AND SINCE IT WAS NOT EVEN A TOTAL LOSS JUST THE QUARTER PANEL GOT SCRATCHED AND THE DOOR WAS BARELY HIT JUST SMALL DENT AND THE FENDER WAS A LITTLE DENTED AS WELL
I HAVE PHOTOS OF WHEN IT HAPPENED IN THE PASSENGER SIDE
A SMALL MINIVAN SIDE SWIPED IN A RED LIGHT BARELY GOING 15MPH
AND OF COURSE THE OTHER DRIVERS INSURANCE HAD TO PAY FOR ALL NEW FERRARI DOOR AND FENDER AND QUARTER PANEL AND REAR BUMPER AND THE FERRARI WAS PROFESSIONALLY REPAIRED WITH NEW BODY PARTS AT WHERE FERRARI DEALERSHIP TAKES THEIR CARS
I HAVE PHOTOS OF BEFORE AND AFTER AS IT LOOKS BETTER THAN BEFORE AND LIKE A BRAND NEW CAR SINCE THE WHOLE CAR WAS REPAINTED WITH FERRARI PEARL METALLIC BLACK THAT IS THE ORIGINAL COLOR CODE AND IT JUST SHINES LIKE CRAZY AND LIKE A MIRROR.
REPAIRS WERE AT 65,000.00 SINCE EACH FERRARI PART COSTS 10K + AND THE LABOR ISN'T CHEAP
SP THAT IS WHY THE INSURANCE TOTALED IT BUT I DID A BUYBACK BECAUSE I WANTED TO FIX IT AND SELL IT FIXED AS I KNOW THE ENGINE WAS MAINTAINED PERFECTLY AND THE CAR RUNS LIKE NEW WITH A RECENT CLUTCH CHANGE AND TIMING BELT ETC THAT HAD COST ME OVER 20K

THE CAR LOOKS PERFECT AND VERY SHINY AS NEW!!!
