    Hi Members
I am planning to do my first oil change on my wifes 360 spider
can anyone help with a basic write up on what should be addressed when doing
an oil change on a 360.

What i an looking for is basically to understand all the key points to look for when doing the oil change such as hidden screen filters, extra drain points, and first start up procedures ect.

Any direction will be greatly apreciated

I just did 2 days ago :) I detailed with photo almost every step. I will prepare photo material today and post it in the evening ok. But it's nothing complicated.

First what you have to do is the start the engine and warm it up and remove black plastik under car :)

I have manuals in PDF but it's 4,4 MB so I can not upload here. If you write me you email, I can send it via email.

The hardest part is removing all the bolts for the black under-tray. There are a lot of them. Once that's off just drain the two oil pans and remove and clean the mesh filter on the side of the motor. The oil filter is accessed from the top of the engine underneath the power steering fluid reservoir. If you have a long extension and the oil filter tool it is easy to change.

I even did the filter with one of those strap wrenches a couple months back. A bit awkward to squeeze on.. but doable. I did mine redneck style backed up onto rear ramps.

Agree that screws on undertray are the biggest PITA. ONce undertray is off, everything else is easy.

I ended up backing up on ramps as well, in addition to elevating the front wheels with some boards. Just enough room basically to slide under and work safely.

Claustrophia at it's best though when you're lowering the undertray down onto your body! The thing really is massive.

Just remember to follow the proper oil measuring procedures when refilling.

I have done two oil changes and there is no need to take off the undertray . there are 2 drain bolt that you will see once you raise the car .

But for a full service of oil the undertray cover needs to go out in order to clean/change the motor oil mesh filter and to supply compresed air to drain the oil cooler.

I would say if you only change your oil once a year then it's best to remove the whole under tray and clean the filter. If you do it multiple times a year then you can probably get away with just cleaning the filter once a year.

I will definetily remove the under tray, probably a good time to also have a good general look at everything from under the car,

Can someone give me a reliable procedure for filling the oil to the correct level
maybe a guide to an approximate initial fill, assuming oil radiator is purged with air?.
I can only assume that it is best to run to operating temperature with the initial oil fill so that the correct level can then be determined and adjusted accordingly???

Just fill it up with 8 quarts and then turn the car on and let it warm up and fill up until it is all the way full. Should take 10-11 quarts.

Don't overfill the sump because the excessive oil will be sucked into the plenum and pool up. This will over time (if more oil is being drawn in) cause the engine to run poorly and may damage MAF due to backfiring.
