    I can not seem to get an accurate oil level read on my 2000 360...and yes, I know the engine must be running.

    No, the engine level is read better with it off. With the engine running the oil returning into the tank splashed around causing erratic readings.

    Turn it off, and check it straight away.

    When you say can't get an accurate read, how exactly, please explain.


    If you are doing it when the OIL temp is over 160 degrees with the motor running, that is the way Ferrari calls for it to be done. If it varies a 1/4 inch from ck to ck don't worry. If it varies 2 inches there is a problem with your method.
